I was wondering what people think about these helis. Are they good quality, 3D capable, cheap to repair ect..? I ask any opinions from anyone about these helicopters. Thanks

I helped a local with his Bergen Intrepid 60 last week. I looked it over pretty good and it's a quality machine. One of our better local fliers took it up (as the owner is a beginner ) and it looked smooth. Local good guy said it was very sensitive to inputs and cranked in lots of expo for the owner (60%) and set pitches up for beginner (very little negitive). It had a YS 61 ST-2/Hatori pipe which ran very nice.
I don't think it's a cheap parts heli though as the kit alone sells for $1399.00 retail.
Very nice machine

I have a Bergen 3D that I bought used for a substantial savings. I like it a lot. The kit cost is high, but the parts cost is right in line with the rest of the market.

I would bet that the sensitivity the other fellow noticed could be dialed out with different paddles, or a different bell-hiller mixing setup, or flybar weights. That twitchines is an observation of how setup behaves, not how the heli will always behave.

Mine is too stable, so I'm putting lighter paddles on it.

Good for many reasons...

I just finished helping my wife assemble her new Bergen Intrepid EB gasser heli. We have friends that fly Miniature Aircraft Xcell helis, we've built T-Rex's and a couple Raptors.

The fit and finish on all the parts is outstanding. Every part on the Bergen is a nice tight fit. Her heli is still in the break-in stages, and I can say that more than the engine is getting "broken-in." All of the tolerances were so tight that the parts are actually getting more smooth and well fitted with the first couple of gallons of gas.

After we fly this Bergen gasser for a while I think I'll be itching for an Intrepid 90.

MADE IN THE U.S.A. A definite plus.

Best of all, the customer service at Bergen is OUTSTANDING!!! You can call and talk with the designers and manufacturers of this fine heli. These guys will answer your questions on the spot and don't sound troubled at all to answer questions. In my opinion, great customer service is the number one qualification for a good product to be GREAT.

Yeah man, this thread is over 4 years old. And to my knowledge, RappyTappy had been sponsored by Bergen sometime after he created this topic....many years ago.

A quote directly from Chris's MySpace:

This is my old Bergen 60(was a sponsored pilot then) that I was flying at the Vegas fun fly of 2003. Always enjoyed this shot.

I'm assuming he meant sponsored by Bergen.
