Engines Plugs Mufflers Fuel > Sudden increase in power?!

Hello everyone,

I was flying today doing a little hovering and landing practice. The first flight the motor was too rich since it's warmed up alot here since I last flew, so I turned the needle on my OS 50SX-H in about 2 clicks and it ran well (still really rich because it's still breaking in with almost 1 gallon of CP 15% through it). So I flew the second tank and from the time I took off until the end of the tank (I never burn the header tank fuel and alway land while I can still see fuel in the main tank) the rotor speed had risen from 1640rpm to 1760rpm. I checked the needles and the fuel system to see if it was leaning but it didn't seem to be. So I fueled up again and when I spooled it up it hovered again at about 1740-1760rpm. About halfway through the tank the rpms noticibly and rather suddenly increased and clocked at 1940rpms , but the engine still had lots of power and plenty of smoke. I landed and once again, nothing I could see had changed. Does this mean I have a problem or just that the engine is finally breaking in and making the power it supposed to?

Your help is appreciated,

Mike
