I surf with Dolphin all the time in North Carolina.

They're friendlier than 98% of the people in the world.

That really is a dolphin...

...That pic was floating (no pun intended ) around the surfing forums& sights and lists. The photographer actually answered that it was a dolphin...the next pic on his roll clearly showed that it was a dolphin.
It was just the pic was shot at just the right moment when the silouette looked like a shark.

I've been out surfing many times when the dolphins would come by very close...it is the coolest thing...and there is absolutely nothing to fear.

Sharks have vertical tail fins, Dophins are horizontal. The fin on that animal looks horizontal to me.

i used to surf around long island (NY) a few years back ... i saw a pretty big sand shark about 5 feet from me one time .... it might have been around 4 feet long .. i though it was pretty cool .... sharks usually wont atack humans unless they feel you are competing for their food with them, or antagonize them ....

I use to see sharks all the time when I use to surfed in Hawaii. I lived there for 27 years. You usually would **** yourself and paddle for the shallow parts of the reef, then get brave and go back out to the line up. Most sharks in Hawaii won't eat you, except the Tiger shark, but it will try to bite you. After it finds out your not a turtle, it will spit you back out.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick
