well, I think perhapse we should break in this great new page with some listing of the software we are all familiar with (and where to get it if possible). This will be usefull for those of us who are in the market for new software.

so here is my list (in my order of preference)

Solidworks (www.solidworks.com)
ProE
Mechanical Desktop (old autodesk product, not sure if it is used anymore, I sure as heck don't use it)
Autocad (www.autodesk.com

Are all the ones using Rhino amateurs (no insult meant) ?

I use it for planks with excellent results and all it takes to learn it is a few hours messing around with it. Rhino has a steep learning curve and that's something that can't be said for AutoCad, 3D Studio, Katia, probably SolidWorks and all the other "professional" CAD software.

I'm SolidWorks Certified and use it every day at work. IMHO, it's the best 3D package out there especially if you don't have any 3D experience. Don't yell, Pro-E is a very powerful tool - but not as user-friendly as Solidworks.

I have and use AutoCad R14 as well.

I use Mechanical Desktop. I also have played with Inventor but have not had the time to learn it well.

Ok,
Lets get the job done. I'm modeling a Century Hawk Sport in Invertor v.8. I'll be doing a Raptor 60 when I finish. Does anyone have part drawings they'd like to share?
