e-Mikado Logo 400 500 600 > Logo 20: What is your setup ?

Hello Everyone,

I've just entered the world of electric heli's with a logo-20. From the manual, it seems to give the rotor diameter of 1240mm. With the 14cm blade-grip gap, this works out at 55cm main blades.

However, it seems that many people are running 600mm blades - which seem quite long for such a small heli.

If you fly a logo-20, please add to this thread with a description of your setup and how well it works.

Main blade type/size
Number of cells/cell type
Pinion tooth count (also whether new gear type or old)
Typical flight time
Motor/Speed controller
Quick summary about how you feel about the overall setup.

This would be really useful to know before I really get going - and I thank responders in advance!.

John,

My Logo 20 has the following

600mm Razors
2 x 10 cell 2400 Sanyo's
11 Tooth Pinion
Only doing hovering and gentle circuits - 8-9 minutes
Hacker C50-17XL and 48 Opto ESC

Loads of power and very smooth with the Hacker ESC soft start, also flying non Gov mode using Flat curve on TX (0,80,80,80,80)

Thanks for the info guys.

Have you ever tried 550mm blades?. I have some 550's and some 600's - but my blade grip bolts are 3mm. I hesitate to use 600's on such a small bolt.

Isn't this heli designed for 600mm blades? I can't see using shorter blades on this heli.

If memory serves, the smaller bolt is fine provided it is HSS with a full unthreaded shank.

Rob,

The manual main-rotor diameter spec implies 550mm blades - but it doesn't actually state the blade lengths.

The tail-boom is very long - so longer blades were expected. Thanks for easing my mind on the bolt size: I'll go with the 600's.

John. I've been using fairly heavy long chord 600mm SAB blades at about 1800RPM head speed on mine for a couple of years so you should be okay.

I quite honestly have never heard of anyone using anything other than 600mm blades on this heli. Your post was a first for me!

This setup doesn't fly very well. I get 0.0 minutes of flight time.

Heheheh. I bought it a few weeks ago and haven't started building it yet. Hell, I haven't even bought the electrics yet!

Fosters.

I'd change just about everything in your setup for improved performance.

Can any of you guys tell me what the gear ratio of the logo 20 is? IE: main gear tooth count?

thanks

The tooth count of the new smaller pitch main gear is 138. The old, courser gear is 96 teeth.
