JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > Scale Fuse from JR for Ergo 60

Has anyone had experience with the Schweizer 300 scale fuse for the Ergo 60? I'm thinking about getting one. I know they are expensive, but I think I'm leaning more toward scale than I am interested in 3D.

Have it

I have the Ergo 60 Schweizer body. Just bought over the internet for my Z230. Good quality. Haven't fly with it yet since I'm still tuning my new heli and don't want to crash with it. Look for update...

I'll be looking. Checking on the Horizon page they are out of stock. I have my LHS on the trail for one. As soon as he can get them I'll have one. Let me know how it goes. I will be interested in the number of hours you will have in it. I've heard from 5 - 8.

Thanks

One on the way!

I looked at the one at HeliProz shop and had to have one. I ordered it today, should be here in a day or two. I live up where the air is thin (mile high) so I got the OS .90 with it! With the different gear ratio and the longer blades it should be a blast! I will post pictures as I build it. Check out HeliProz.com, they have some pictures of the one in their store.

I have the conversion coming

Horizon is out of stock right now but I got an email from my LHS that said he would have one at the end of the month. I can't wait! IF I didn't already have an Ergo 60 I'd get the one in Heliproz. Keep us posted on how it goes, Paul.

Bad landing gear

I own one of the Ergo Schweizer scale kit. The landing gear with its little screws got loose after flying so I thought I will take it apart to use some locktite. However, after undone the screw, I found myself struggle to take the landing gear apart.

Now it is halfway out (or halfway in depend on you look at it) and TOTALLY unusable. I thinking of sending it back to Horrizon Hobby to get it fix. Anyone have the same problem.

Advice: Don't take it apart once you put it together or you will be sorry.

Scale Gear Trouble

I have my Ergo .91 Schweizer 300 put together finally. I will be posting some pictures soon. I had trouble with the landing gear on mine also. Some of the set screw holes needed tapped out with a thread chaser. I put one in and got it half way and could'nt get it out or in. I ended up drilling it out and over sizing that one to the next bigger set screw. It is a awsome kit! I can hardly wait to fly it.

Talked to LHS Yesterday

According to the guy at my LHS, my conversion should be here next week and could be in the shop today. Thanks for the headsup on the landing gear. I can't wait! Let's see those pictures, Paul!

Don't know what headspeed you are running now, but if it's around 1.6K or better, will you lower it for scale? I was advised by someone who is well known in scale to run around 1300.

JR Ergo Schweizer/OS.91 Pictures

Well I finally got the pictures posted -thanks to my friend Mike S. I flew the first two tanks of fuel through it with a Wyoming wind assisting me. I did a few modifications to the basic kit. 1). I put the tail braces out on the skid frames- more scale like. 2). I went to my local sign shop and got some yellow scraps of vinyl and put them on top of the window decal stripes. You could see through the decal set. 3). I cut about 1 inch off of the tail stinger on the top to save weight and make it more scale like. I am still breaking in the engine and had a head speed of 1300. You can see it at:

There was one at Joe Nall this year and I didn't get to see it.

How did you get your headspeed down to 1300? Did you change the gear of do it with the curves?

LOOKS GREAT!!!!!

Head Speed

I got my head speed down to 1300 by using the 10 to 1 gear that I ordered. The kit came with a 9 to 1. I am also running the engine rich still trying to break it in. I took it to the Heli FunFly at Denver this past weekend. What a blast it is to fly!

Fit Other Brands?

Sorry Ehab for not getting back to you sooner. I think you could make this 300 kit fit most of the .60 size machines. You would need a longer main shaft. The gear would bolt up with some mods. The tail fins should also be able to adapt with a little work. I was looking at my Excel Gasser and thinking the same thing? Check back in a couple days and I will try to get some pictures of the mounting details for you at: http://www.jrtechnique.com/Gallery/paulg/schweiz.html
