Whats the purpose of a Bell-Mark twin plug head?

Twin plug heads can allow you to use two different plugs. One hot, one cold, so you can idle really well, and still get a tuned top end. It is also insurance from an in flight plug failure.

Twin Plug Head

I had a Webra 61 and a Weston pipe that didn't want to idle well, I put the dual head on it and used an OS #5 & #8 plug and the idle really smoothed out and it did burn better. You need to richen the mix slightly as it will burn hotter at high RPM's. Also the Belwood heads are made of softer aluminum than a stock head so you must be careful to torque the head properly and not to over tighten the head bolts.

It also changes the compression ratio, it claims to slightly increase compression and power, enough to add an additional 1/2 to 1 degree of pitch on top.

Belwood dual heads

You can find them at cyberheli.com they vary in price depending on the motor. 50 bucks or more.

That's the only place I know for sure that stocks them, there must be others that carry them too, I just don't know of any other dealers.
