I have the NiMHs too

I am using NiMH for my heli and digital servos, however I never see pilots using NiMH with digital servos. They say that NiMH discharge rate is not good enough for digital servos.
I have 2000mAh 4.8v NiMH pack and with 4 digital, 1 analog servos I get two good flights. The third one is kind of pushing. No 4th flight. You gotta charge them.
I know there are some new batteries out there(LiIon, LiPo) but I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars just for the battery packs.
So I am not a pro, but I think you can get good 4 to 5 flights with those 4500mAh packs.

Check out worldofrc.com. They have 4500 MAH packs for half that price. Your paying an extra $40.00 for the powerflite logo.

iskoos,

That is hogwash. I have been using a 2700 mah (4.8V)NiMh in my Fury and a 3000 (4.8V) mah NiMh in my Raptors. I get at least four flights with my Fury (2700 mah) running Futaba 9252s. I get at least SEVEN flights with my Raptor running JR 8311s.

It's amazing some of the stuff posted on here. I am not an expert on batteries and am not an expert on helis but I do know that is what I am getting out of these packs. They do not cost hundreds of dollars. I don't remember the exact price but I think the 2700 was around $30 and the 3000 was about $45.

I have had excellent luck running these types of packs.

To cdrking

That is not hogwash what I wrote here. I posted what I experienced. With my 4.8 v 2000 mAh NiMH pack (they are AA size panasonic), I get two good (15-min flights), + one flight = 3 flights. I don't do the 4th flight because of the digital servos, but you may get the 4th flight as well. I just don't want to take the change. Then I charge them. This is what happens to me. My batteries may be a little old, my voltage indicator may be off or your batteries may be newer and better than mine. Like I said, I am not a pro. I just posted what I have been through. There is nothing to be amazed of here.

You post what you know, I post what I do and others read all and get what they want.

Please pay attention to what you are reading before making any comments. I did NOT say that NiMH batteries cost hundreds of dollars.
That was said for LiIon and LiPo batteries. Here is what I said;

I guess it is clear enough.
My post was based on my experience and your is based on your experience. I do have respect to what others say, and would like to see the same for my posts.

The reason you want to avoid using NiMh cells is because when they fail, they fail open. NiCd fail closed. This means if one cell in the pack fails in a NiMh pack the voltage will be 0. If one cell fails in a NiCd pack the voltage will be 3.6. This may allow you to recover and land. I have seen this actually happen on a TX using NiMh.
