Hi y'all;
I have an Accu-Cycle (not the +) and I went to charge a new set of Rx Nimh 1800Ma batteries and I was charging at 125ma for like about 20 hours each of about 4 times. When I went to discharge to check the capacity each time I got way less than the rated pack should be 1110Ma, 1159Ma, 1112Ma & 988Ma what gives here any ideas??? (I quit when the Ma started going down!)

the accucycles are infamous for not reporting the actual number of amp hours they pull out of the cells. The other thing is that the original accucycle stops charging after 15 hours, so there is no way to fully charge the cells since typically you will have to add between 10 and 50 % more energy to the cells (from my experience, this increases as you decrease the charge rate below C/10 which in your case would be 180milliamps) for those larger packs, you really need a bigger charger... for timed charging I just pick up a cheap constant current charger and a 4$ wall timer and play with it a bit to see exactly how long from a discharged state it takes to charge the pack. set the timer and go. but the other option I have been doing is simply always fast charging and then cycling occasionally and for the convenience I simply throw the cells away once a year.

accucycle plus shuts off in 2 hours if it does not peak before then and both plus and original would stop discharging around 1.15V per cell vs the normal 1.05 , makes a big difference on mah.

Thanks guys, I've been putting the battery on for a second charge @ 175Ma as that is the highest this sucker will do. I know it stops @ 15hrs but I thought that the extra time of about 8hrs would have brought it up. That 1.15v discharge cutoff, would it make an 800Ma difference?? I guess the only way to use this discharger properly is to monitor the trends of the packs & disregard the actual reading, is that a reasonable thought??

Accucycle does not support Nimh, at least my version does not.

accu cycle supports nimhs...accu cycle plus does not support nihms, this is due to the fsta charge rate of the + nihms needs slow charge, also I was in shock when reading that the nimhs discharge rate is double of a nicad!! printed on page 2 of the accucycle instructions manual.

I'll stick to my nicads for now!!
