This claims to be better than using a split gear to get a constant drive tail (like Ronlund sells for $30).

Which is a better way to go? The slipper sure seems easier to install, but I am not sure how/if it works.

That's the one I just got. It works great on my 50. Jeff I think convinced me that the split drive robs less power from the drivetrain, but for now I love the slipper. Cheaper too. Future plans for a split, but for now... fuel. I shot a few auto's with no problems, disengaged fast too. I did not notice it take that much headspeed away before disengaging clutch.
