Hi
Ive fitted a CSM400 gyro to my Raptor 30 ... I am using a futaba 6x transmitter they the servo's are 148's (I know its not the best but its all i can afford at the moment). When i wind the heli up the tail wags like a dog but in a hover it seems pretty steady although not perfect. I am also having to trim the heli out when switching between modes.
I have been told to change the atv's on channel5 which switches between mode 0 (normal) and mode1 (HH) .. and to use between 0-50% for normal mode and 50-100% for HH .. is this right?..
Can anyone suggest a way to fix the wag?, without paying a visit to the bank manager?.

Also is ATV the same as gain?.

I am into my 4th week of flying heli's so forgive me for being a little green on the subject.

Thanks of any help
Rgds

It sounds like you need to go back to square one adjust the linkage on the tail rotor. Set your rudder ATV's to 100% both directions, next set your gain to 60% in mode 0 (normal) and mode1 (HH). Now center your rudder trims and sub trims if available on the 6Xhs, with the gyro set to 0 (normal) bring it up into a hover if the tail wants to swing left or right set it down and adjust the rudder linkage until the tail stays put when you hover, you won't get it perfect just get as close as you can. Now that your linkage is set you can experiment with the rudder ATV's to increase the piro rate and also you will need to adjust your gain settings you will probably end up around 70-80%, running to high a gain on the gyro will cause it to hunt or wag back and forth, you usually turn it up until it hunts and then reduce it until it quits. Good Luck!

Rudder ATV's adjust piro rate, channel 5 ATV's adjust gyro gain.

Thanks Waldo,
When you say "adjust your gain settings you will probably end up around 70-80%" you mean the ATV on channel5? (the mode switch).

This is what is confusing me .... I can see anywhere in the maual for the TX which has a reference to gain ....
