JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > CCPM question on Vigor CS

Hi I am looking at buying a Vigor CS and have the Futaba 8ch radio that only does 120 deg. mix. Is this a problem? Is the problem on the for-aft cyclic control with the 2 servos being a different distance from the shaft to the single servo?

Thanks
Paul

The CS will fly with 120 degrees, the instruction shows setups for 120 or 140.

Paul, I fly my CS using 140 CCPM on my Futaba Super 8, it just takes a little mixing with an available PMIX. Do a search on here for '140 CCPM on Futaba radio' and you might should get something.

Mine flies great!

I use a Futaba 9HP and JR Digital Servos on my Vigor CS with 140 CCPM setup, which may be useable on FF8. The settings are as follows:-

1) ATV AIL,PIT & ELE are all set at 110% each way.
2) PMIX Master: ELE and Slave:PIT at LIN:
Rate A: -40% and Rate B: -35%. This figure may change a little depending on type of servos. On the 9HP you can make use of the SRV bar graph function to varify the equal travel amount for all the stick input.
3) The SWH is set to SR3 with AIL: +41%, ELE: +65% and PIT: +45%.

You may need some adjustment to the above figures with emphasis that the swash plate does not tilt even at extreme ends of servo travel and for the CCPM 140 the travel of ELE relative to the main mast must equal to the AIL/PIT at elevator input. This is for slow steady throttle/pitch stick input.

You will notice that there will be a small delay/ differential travels amount in all the servo after a "perfect" adjustment in slow stick input. In flight it is not noticeable.

The total pitch range obtainable without binding is plus and minus 10 degrees on a symmetrical blade.

I have never own a JR 8103. The thing is that you will have to rely on your eye to judge the servos travel, which you will need anyway, especially when giving elevator input which requires equal travel of ELE and AIL/PIT relative to the main shaft (that's the principle design of CCPM 140). The Futaba SWH:SR3 function is in fact CCPM 120 degree function with one mixing to convert to CCPM 140. By deduction JR 8103 should be able to do the same.

Try the approximate settings and adjust each parameter to understand the effect. I know it is a painful exercise.
