| Congratulations on getting there with the Hover. I use a similar motor to you, mine is the Protech Mega 300 6V. Until recently I thought this was identical to the Speed 300 6V but have been told that the wind is slightly different and it is more powerful. I have used these motors on both the 'birdseed' NiMh packs and 2 cell LiPo. From trial and error I found the Protech motor runs best on an 8t pinion, would think the Graupner motor would be the same as they are both very high speed units.
I do not use a heatsink on my motors but know I should and after a 15 minute hover and slow ff on a LiPo pack the motor is quite hot but they seem to survive.
Cannot say that I have noticed any sparking on the comms though. Did you run the motor in before you used it? I run mine for 10 minutes with no load on 3V, this beds the brushes in. I assume you have fitted the three capacitors to the motor as these are necessary? |
