Hey everyone.

I just picked up the Phoenix 80 for my Quick EP and the instructions states to disable the BEC if you use over 10 cells. I will be using 12 cells and was wondering if anyone out there is doing that without disabling the BEC? Anyone know the reason why I can't use the BEC after 10 cells? I rather cheat and save the weight if it doesn't burn out the esc. Thanks

you will overload the bec, dont do it
it has to do with the voltage drop from the 12 cell pack having to be lowered to 5.5 volts. its a big drop which ends up as heat(not good)
Its better to get a ubec or use a reciever pack, better to be safe than sorry.

good luck

adam

we can never have too many, can we ?

Adam,

Thanks for the info. Do you know which is lighter to use? Ubec or flight pack? I've never heard of a ubec. Thanks

Save your money loss and buy an S-BEc to eliminate the need of carrying a flight pack.

You WILL toast your ESC with 12 cells.

Jim!
