Stolen? Missing Helis or Equip > Christmas Eve - Break in

It's Christmas Eve and after waking up this morning I've discovered my workshop has been broken into. The scumbags have taken my virtually new OS 91 fury extreme and FF9 transmitter along with some power tools.

To say I'm hacked off is an understatement. I've only had my fury for about 4 or 5 months and had spent most of this time ironing out little problems, so it's sods law that when I do get it running well this should happen.

I'm fairly confident that insurance should cover my losses but it definately won't cover the hours of work that went into my heli along with model data on my tranny.

I would post a pic of my heli but I don't have it in my gallery so I'll have to wait till next week, hopefully people in the U.K could keep a look out for it.

Here's some more info:

Fury extreme with-
OS 91 c'spec and muscle pipe 2
Futaba PCM receiver and 9252 cyclic servos
CSM micro 560 gyro and GV1 governor
SAB blades

Field force 9 with the following model memories as far as I can remember:
Fury XTRM
CAP 232
Wot 4
H9 Mustang

BAST@RDS the sad part is they were probably looking for xmas presents.
How do you explain that to your kids, but hundreds of parents have to every year.

Why do we fear change, one of the two certainty's in life

Hi Wes

Sorry to hear about the break-in, we will keep a eye out for the stuff but most likely it will turn up on Ebay like some of our stuff did.

Hope you have something else to fly in the mean time(if we get any flying weather over the holidays)

Hope you can still have a happy Christmas

Wes

I do hope you are covered by the insurance. When I asked my insurance co. if I would be covered the response was that I would *not* be.

The criteria was that if it flew it was not covered. But things like steam trains or model railways etc etc, would be covered.

Please don't ask me where the logic is, but good luck with your claim.

I would look for people that knew it was there, friends, neighbours. You would be very surprised who will steal from you. Don't ask me how I know.

Sorry to hear your loss, you need to post pictures NOW so people can see it. I'm sure the scumbag will be taking it to a pawn shop or selling off very quickly. If you don't have a way to post today, email me and I'll post them for you.

Ray

If I throw a stick, will you leave?

Hi all,

Thanks for the support.

I'll definately keep an eye on e-bay Bob but I'm not too optimistic, I'm sure the people who stole it will probably try to sell it on as quickly as possible and probably over Christmas.

Will post some pictures shortly as soon as Ray receives them.

Cheers

Thanks for posting my pics Ray.

What you can't tell from the pics is that the underside of the canopy is purple. The canopy is pretty easy to recognise as it was a first attempt at spraying and therefore the finish is a bit 'orange peely'.

As for other distinguishing marks, the canopy is held on by a thumbscrew on oneside and just a hexi-bolt on the other. The other thumbscrew came out in flight and left a 'nick' on the front edge of one of the rotor blades. There's also another small 'nick 'on one of the main blades inboard of the bolt hole.

Thats about all I can think of to distinguish it.

Cheers

I would imagine it is more risky to sell off something speciallized like a heli, with a littel luck the $hithead will get caught.

The hobby shop here was robbed a year ago. The guys who did it got caught!

I had a friend that had two heli's stolen and he started checking pawn shops, had everything back in three weeks and the guys were cought, make sure you have a police report made thats the only way your will get it back from the pawn shop.

Good luck, hope you get it all back, and for what its worth, Merry Christmas.
