e-JR Voyager E > What brushless set up for Voyager E?

I bought a Voyager E used from a guy who is a real heli nut. He had set it up nicely for me. My problem is the batteries dont last very long so I would like to go brushless for langer duration and power but not sure what is the best bang for the buck.

Doles any one sell the motor and ESC as a complete set?

Any links would be helpful....thanks guys!

Go here and see the combos. I have the Hacker C40 8L Schulze ESC on my Voyager-E and get great results with this set-up.

Hoverup...thanks so much for the info! The Hacker is a lot of cash....more than what I was paying for an AXI for my plane.
I guess it is a must if I am unhappy with the run time. If you guys know of anything that is cheaper in price but still good quailty....would you let me know? What about the MEGA motors? Any good? Castle creations ESCs...are they OK?

Astro wants $200.00 for an 020 and speed contoler....is that a good motor and ESC? Anyone have this combo or any knowledge on it?

I'm running the Astroflight setup in my VE. I have no complaints other than it gets pretty hot. Other people have had issues with the motors throwing magnets. The new versions of the the motors have an integrated heatsink which may help with some of the over heating.

No mine is the older version without the integrated heatsink. I'm using an aftermarket heatsink to help keep it cool.

Hey guys...thanks so much for the info. It seems that everyone really likes the Hacker C40 8L with Schulze ESC. A lot of cash but it will be the last motor and controler that I will buy.

Last question for a while....Are carbon fiber blades something to get when I have lost the training skid or should I concider it now?

JUst got a voyager E my self damn c48l i dont mind buying it but the other thingthat ya need with it came to 389.00 holy shiet.... Or did i just go to a company that chages to much?? also I would like to know the other upgrade i can do as well for this machine i got the carbon frames... and thats it..

Great people to deal with. I have been told that if you drop in a brushless, you need to also use carbon fiber main rotors. I am not sure if this is a must being that I am a rookie too. I have a set of Carbon fiber blades coming in from theguy who sold me his Voyager so I will be OK. Does anyone else have an opinion about wood blades and Hacker brushless motors?

the issue here is rotor speeds, and the ability of the stock blades to handle the higher speeds. I believe the stock blades reccommended "do not exceed" speed is around 1600 RPM, a number you can easily exceed with a brushless and the right pinion.

I'm using the Astro 020 and a Phoenix 35. I've also got the GWS heat sinks on it. The combo works like a champ. It doesn't get hot, and has plenty of power for me with 8 cell, 2400 packs.
