Thunder Tiger Raptors 30-90 - Imperio > My first unplanned touch down!!!

I was flying in a field behind James house today. The wind was about 8 mph with 20 mph gusts. I haven't flown in about a week, so I was anxious to "BURN FUEL BABY!!" The wind was taking me up and down rather quickly, and one time a gust came and took me up, then I stopped it, then it came down and I couldn't stop it!! I was at 3/4 stick trying to get it back up, but it just wouldn't work. So one of the blades hit the ground and more precisely hit a rock and put a dent/gash in the blade a little smaller than a dime. I was glad that was the only thing that hit the ground. I'm going to have some more blades on it and will be back in the air in no time!!!

Did the blade hit

Or did a rock pop up when the hit the ground. The landing wasn't very hard, I think a rock poped up and hit the blade.

Did you order another set?

Montgomery Boys

James and Eddie,

Flying this weekend? I tried to call you today James. I have been out at the field the past two days and Brooks has been coming out after work to get a couple of tanks in. It has been a little windy the past two days.

Unfortunately, Looks like I went through another clutch liner. I bumped the Tx when setting it down next to me to start her up. I thought something was odd because it didn't just start right up...well, it did start and wanted to fly like a bat out of....

I was holding the rotor head...thats the first time I have done that and it caught me by surprise, I didn't know what was going on. It took me several seconds to figure it out I flew it a little around, but I was noticing I wasn't getting the correct response.

I hope this is what caused it...because I only have 5 tanks (BIG tanks through it). I used my timer on the Tx and I am getting @19min on a tank...but I think I need to readjust my throttle and curves.

E-mail me or call if you guys are going out. Brooks and I are planning on going mid/late morning Saturday.

blades

Hey where can I get some good 600mm wood blades for a good price? BTW, I also need them to be turn-key.

Hey James can you check my spindle? (Where ever that is) Cause if you remember, there was a gash on the ground from where the blade hit. If it is damaged too, how much is it to replace it?

Eddie,

I haven't bought any yet, but I plan on it someday.... You may want to check out the fiberglass blades from AB Models at:
http://www.ecsvr.com/abm/

Go to their accessories page 3. They seem to be quite reasonable and several people have had good things to say about them here.

James,

Sorry to hear about the interference. I'm on 60 and haven't had any problems.

I dropped my engine and have JB weld on the liner right now. I'll drop the start shaft and clutchbell later tonight or early morning and hopefully be ready to go out and fly.

Give me a call,

Fiberglass

Hey Brian, I looked them up and found them to be $33.00 USD!!!!! That is the cheapest I've seen for fiberglass blades. I wanted to go ahead and order them, but I don't know if they are good enough for my Rappy 50. I haven't heard anything about them so I don't know. Does anyone know anything about them?
