Hi, i just found this website today, and I liked it a lot.

I already flied r/c helicopter (my first time heli is Kyosho Concept 30) and I already learn to hover. (only hovering

Now Im planning to get a new heli, and I think i need to buy all the equipment again, because last time i played is in my country Indonesia, and now i;m in Seattle area.

Any suggestion the kind of heli i should buy ?
I'm looking for heli that can be used for acrobatic / others stunts. (and of course not to expensive).

Thank you.

cheers.

Help.

Welcome to RunRyder adarwis, you have come to the right place. You will find all you need to know here and more.
The Raptors seem to be very popular here, check through the posts and decide for yourself.

Get a Raptor 30 from www.heliproz.com. There are other places which are equal but probably none better. You can get many things like gyros from www.helihut.com but their Raptors seem to be shipped from Taiwan so I so I would avoid that. They are a good place to get a GY240 gyro from.

Get the 30 ARF with either the TT36 or OS32 engine (most people say the OS is better). The 60 will cost much more and the parts are much more and it uses much more fuel. The 30 is very stable and has plenty of performance. If you want, you can upgrade the 30 to a 50 easily later. You could get the 50 right now if you want also. It is a kit only, no ARF. The ARF is 90% complete. The kit takes an extra 6 hours maybe.

The 30 can do all the aerobatics. It has -12 to +12 pitch range and is just fine. The good gyro to get is the Futaba GY401 with matching digital servo. $200 at Helihut.com, $250 at heliproz.com, $300 at Towerhobbies.com. For less money there is the GY240, about $95 at helihut.com. It is possible that some of the helihut stuff has been imported in a way where there is no US Warrantee. You can decide for yourself if you care. I don't.

The 60's usually have more power for the weight, are a little more stable since they are bigger, and are easier to auto, and easier to see in the air. They suck down lots more fuel, and cost a lot more.

Thanks, John Cadwell

If you have someone around that can help you with the heli and do a nice pre-flight inspection, I'd advise getting a kit rather than an ARF. I like to know how it went together because sooner or later I'm going to have to repair it. You'll feel more confident doing repairs/upgrades if you've seen it in pieces and know you can put it back together after you finish taking it apart. Assembling it from a kit also saves you a little money, and gives a nice personal satisfaction that the thing hovering in front of you is something you made.

HI there glad to see you here. I have a raptor 60 it is one great heli. You may want to think about geting the 60 because it is stable easyer to see and so on if you have hoverd befor it woun't take you much time to pick it back up.I have all Jr stuff in the bird and i think it's better then Futaba but thats only my opinion. Go look at rick's rc that is a good place to shop and i think if you order over 100.00 the shiping is free And we all like that word lol. Virtual 1 had a gerat idea if you have someone to help with the final set up get a kit it's about 70or80 dollers cheaper on the 60. I fly the 60 not because i have more money it because when will i able to out grow it NEVER in less i want to upgrad it to a 90 and thats very unlikely. There is one draw back to the 60 and that is geting parts no there not hard to find or get but you will need to order them off line your local hobby store won't carry them or if they do it's very little but if you get it online then you shouldn't wave a problem geting your parts there to. Look around for a good hobby shop be for you order. See if any one has bad things to say about certin ones this does not make the person an expret about hobby shops but if they had a problem with them you mite end up with one to. I have done lots of ordering from rick's and they are Great. hope this will help Ted
P.S. I ment to tell you most people go with the os engines because it is a 50/50 chance to get a good tt engine at least is true for the 60 size.

I think people overblow the possible problems with TT engines. There are like 100,000 of these engines I bet less than 3 percent of them have problems. Not 50%. I would be perfectly happy with mine if I did not keep on hearing that I am supposed to be having problems.
