If someone has a Raptor 60 and a 30/50 setting side by side. Would it be possible to mount the 60 fuel tank in a 30/50 frame?

Thanks,

Pete

No, it won't fit...

I just tried it. Without a ton of heat and some SERIOUS deformation of the plastic, it is a no go. I was able to loosen/remove screws from the frame and wedge it partially in but there's just no way to re-attach the frame to the landing gear with that monster in there.
I'm sure there's a Sullivan plank tank that will fit between the frames.

Raptor 60 tank in a Sceadu 50

For those looking for the same answer for the Sceadu you can install a Raptor 60 tank in a Sceadu. The Raptor 60/90 Upgrade tank pat # PV0130 will fit for a total of 18 oz!

Here's the link to the webpage at Heliproz explaining the method.

he may have used heat to get in in there.. i know that he did make it fit. ill ask him when i see him.....

the 330cc tank and a header will probably give u plenty of flight time im sure...

Brainstorm!

We need to figure this out.

I am getting a Raptor 50 soon and I am not looking forward to sub 9 minute flights on 30%.

Somebody out there must have figured out a way to fit a larger tank in there. I am going to buy the Sullivan 16oz tank, but I held a stock Raptor 30 tank up to it and there is a BIG difference. I am not sure it will fit. Hell, the upgrade "big" tank for the Raptor 50 is only 11oz. They should have made it bigger (longer, taller) but still wide enough to fit.

With all the Raptor owners here, we should be able to come up with a solution.

Mine will be in on Tuesday and as soon as I try the Sullivan tank, I'll weigh in.

Same here, I have a Raptor 50 on the way and don't think the 11oz is enough with an OS50. I was running the OS50 in an XCell40 (RIP) and the 10oz tank on that with a header was not enough. I would like to have at least 14oz in the main tank. 16oz would be even better. Maybe an XCell Pro 1 tank (16oz)? It is 55x90x110mm (WxHxL). I will try it when I get my Raptor and post my findings here.

Thanks for all the input.

I have the 18oz tank on my Raptor 60 and I was running a low head speed... I have just been doing some basic hovering, but I am averaging 19min a flight. I do not need a header tank for "more time," but I am considering adding one so I can use up the main tank entirely and still have reserve. When I start getting low on the tank, I get some air in the fuel lines occasionally.

Brooks, my friend, has a Raptor 50. He installed a header tank...his main tank is the what ever comes in the 50kit from Heliproz. When i time his flights (again just hovering) he is getting right at 10min on the main tank.

What about the Thunder Tiger tanks? I have used them in planks where space was limited and a larger tank was needed for extended flight time. They seem to be longer but not much wider....a 12 or 14 ounce may fit well.

Header Tank (s)

what about using 2 header tanks? I'm quite a newbie not even hovering yet, but wouldn't a 2nd header tank give you an extra 2oz?

Raptor aftermarket fuel tanks

I've noticed at Heliproz, Eric lists a Sullivan 16oz flex tank (Sullivan #743) in the Raptor 30 upgrade section. There is no reference to whether this fits or not. Maybe Eric has found out this one works?

If it does, that is plenty of gas for a 50 machine. cheap too, only $5.49

Next time I need to get something from them I will ask him if it fits.
Anyone out there have one laying around they can try in the Raptor?
