Has anyone use a OS 160 twin in skyfox mechanics in the carbon airwolf? What is the ideal gear ratios for 800 blades and what about cooling of the cylinder heads.

Thanks

I have run this motor in a Skyfox and was very disappointed with the results. The motor is heavy, doesn't make much power and wont rev. In the Skyfox with 700 mm blades, performance was poor with a maximum head speed of about 1400 rpm.

This may be adequate for 800 mm blades as long as you only want to cruise around. If you want to do any aerobatics, then you need to be able to get the head speed up.

If you insist on using it, the cooling will be fine with the Boxer ducting. The only fuel I ever used which worked well was a homebrew but I cant remember the mixture ratios. The next best was 10% CP.

I strongly recommend you forget this and go for an RC230 with twice the power.
