Hi,

What the best type of connectors for the batterys and off the esc ? Just got some Deans plugs and they are really hard to get apart, do you think it would be better to get some seperate 4mm male/female plugs ?

Thanks

Simon.

I use the Deans Ultra. They fit tight but are low loss.

Sermos all around! . . .easy connector system and there's no need to build "Y" harnesses!

Most people swear by the Deans Ultra connectors. I use Astroflight Zero-loss connectors and am satisfied with them.

I believe most connectors are polymer-based, except the bullet ones. I guess they'll break only if they weren't designed for the right usage? I have never used any Deans...but I heard that they are difficult to remove.

Hope this helps...

after flying only sermos for a couple years (and having to replace the plastic shrouds occassionally due to cracking) I converted everything over to deans ultra. They are tight and I know many people complain about this, but I think of the tightness as a huge benefit (never can shake appart like the sermos). Also, after venturing out past the wimpy 25~30 amp electric setups, and into things pulling 70~80~100 amps on occasion, it's very apparent what sort of loss the sermos have in comparison. I think it was a bit over $100 I spent the day I bought all those packs of deans ultra plugs,.. and was probably the best investment I ever made in the hobby. if staying with low-power stuff, not going over 30 amps, sermos are Ok,.. but this is a heli forumn, and in helis you can pull 2 to 3 times that at peak, even when hover current is measured in the 20 amp range (lots of cyclic and full collective really draws a lot of current,.. MUCH more than you might think).
