I am going to have digital futaba 9252 servos on ccpm fury. I usually only fly 2-3 flights per session. Skill level is intermediate. How much battery will I need. I understand that the digital servos drain more power. Will a 1500mah 4.8v be enough? Thanks!!!

I would go with 1800 mAh, but 1500 mAh is possibly enough. The gyro and rudder servo can also make a difference. A 401/9253 will use less power than a 601/9251.

It does depend whether you fly the tank dry, or your brain wears out after ten minutes of really getting into it.

Digital drain

I was talking to Mike @ Hitec and he told me the current drain on the 5600 series Hitec Digital servo is around 200-300mah per servo under load. I guess most other digital servos would be in the same neighborhood as the Hitec as far as power consumption is concerned. But I've been wrong before.

I fly with a 2700mah NiMH pack and boost charge after the second flight just to keep a hot charge on the pack. (25-30 minutes of airtime) I know I could get more flights in between charging but I just don't want to take a chance.

BTW_ A 2700mah NiMH pack is the same size as a 1600mah NiCad pack.
