Hi

I'm having problems setting this up, well getting a signal. Its the 2.4g 200mw system.

I have the channels on the Tx and Rx matching.

The yellow av out on the Tx lead is soldered to a gold phono adapter where the av out on my camera is plugged into. Power is supplied by a fully charged 4.8v Rx pack to the red / black of the Tx.

The other end I have the the receiver taking direct power from a 12v gel battery. Red light is on. The output from the Rx goes to my Eyetop control box.

If I plug the eyetop directly into the camera I get a clear signal.

Go through the downlink I get nothing but noise, after about 10 secs I lose the signal altogether (Subsequently found out if the eyetop unit isn't receiveing a signal it switches off after that time) and it appears to switch off. All I have seen on the display is the usual noise, never seen an image transmitted from the camera.

I'm using stock antennas fully charged etc.

Can anyone suggest where I'm going wrong???

Thanks

Lee

A) wrong channel matching: test all micro-switch combinations
B)reversed polarity on TX or RX
C) broken solder points
D) Broken units

Hi Elossam

I've just been out again, and tried selecting different channels to no avail, I'll go out again now and try again. Surely if they match it should be fine.

The 12v source for the Rx is on the centre pole as described in the insrtructions, red light is on.

The Tx is wired up red to positive, black to negative.

I was using a switch and have bypassed it to take it out of the link.

Still no Joy, getting fed up now !!

I really hope the units are okay, only just took them out of the packaging this morning.

Thanks for your reply.

I take it everyone elses has worked great first time ??????

No Joy

Every channel has been tried, new batteries etc.

I dont want to reverse polarity to test it as I'm sure its right, surely cant be wrong, red to red, black to black can it ??

With it reversed what would the symptoms be ?????? I'm getting the red light on the Rx.

Again, bypassing the downlink works fine, the image is very clear in the eyetops.

It's definitely the downlink, all solder joints checked and okay.

More shipping, more import tax !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not impressed at the moment.

Hi

I take it the yellow av out on the Rx does get soldered to the centre pole on the av phono connector??

I've got to agree with DJ, mine worked flawlessly out of the box.
Did you email BlackWidow? Bill responds to questions quickly!

Perhaps post some photos of your setup and some of us can help?

Good luck,
Greg

Thanks

Here you go.

Its temporary for testing so excuse the state of it all. Hope it helps. It will be tidied up and downsized somewhat.

The black/red going off the top of the pic is to the microphone.
Switch is currently bypassed.

Hi Lee,

Sorry you have experienced some frustration. As Greg points out I am glad to help, you just need to ask!

Looking at your TX setup, it appears that there is no ground wire leading to the outer portion of your RCA connector, is this true?

If so, you'll need to add that. Just share the power ground wire (ok), or solder a wire directly to the case of the tx (preferred)

Regards,
Bill

Bill

Thanks for replying to my email and here.

As suggested by the other guys I contacted you as well as posting here in the hope someone could suggest something. I replied to your email but you can ignore that now as my question is answered in your reply.

I'll give it a try.

Please excuse my conmplete failings in wiring this up :-)

Thanks

BINGO

Thanks to you all, soldered the ground wire to the case of the Tx, a flicking of channel switches and we're there.

Cheers guys.

Off to test tomorrow at a controversial local road bridge that has been left by the local authority for too long.

Lee:

Glad you got it going!

That would have been a tough one to diagnose without the photos, good thing you could post them so quickly!
