| Gees can't Believe it actually went that far!I have to say I am shocked. I am a newbie, so following local flying feild rules is a big thing to learn right now. Ok so if you are by yourself which you shouldn't be anyway when flying a Heli do what you want. It is only you that will get hurt, but when others are around you whether at a park, baseball dimaond, or what ever it is our resonsability as RC pilots to ensure the safety of EVERYONE! Period end of story, game over. If we don't we injur ourselves others, and it can not only causes lawsuites needless deaths, but also creates histeria, which can cause whole clubs to shut down. I can understand mabe pilot C had good intantions about what he was doing, but take the time to explain what you are doing to others so they don't freak out. Also it is a good thing that we all work together to ensure that we all follow local rules, for specific feilds, and not get upset if someone points out the error of our ways. I am in norhtern california, and the Santa Clara flight park, and Bayside flight park would have kicked pilot C out as quick as can be. locks would have been changed etc.
I am not sure if any of you are familiar with the Bayside RC club, but you should check out their rules. They are strick, maybe even to strick for some, but their incident rate is very low. hot heads don't stay in the club, and all those involded love the sport, and contribute to make it better for everyone.
anyone who thinks that Pilot A was wrong for asking what the guy was doing was way off in my opinion. Both Pilot A and C have the right and duty to make sure that who ever is at the feild with them is conducting them selves in a safe and sane manner. I equate it to keeping a friend from getting behind the wheel when they have one to many. They may curse the day you were born, but they will live to fly another day.
Ok Ok I will get off my soap box now.. ) |
