I am getting no more than 1550 head speed on my Logo 10.

Here is my setup: Hacker C50-15L, Master ESC 48 3P Opto, TP 8000 Lipos 4S4P.

According to Logo Motorization Spreadsheet I should get at least 1800 or 1850 with this setup. Even under No LOAD conditions on the ground I cannot increase head speed.

I am running governor mode. (2 beeps at start up)) The weird thing is when I change percentage in throttle idle up1, RPM's change up to 80% but anyhting above 80% head speed stays the same. I have a Futaba 9CHP.

Is there anything else I could try or anything I am not doing right ??

What size pinion are you using? Also what is your blade pitch set at?

I am running 15T pinion.

The pitch set is realy not important because I am not getting any head speed even on the ground with 0 pitch.

But I run about -9 to +10.

It does not bog when climbing. But just does'nt get more than 1550 head speed under any or even no load.

Very strange. My GP3300 14 cells are getting much more head speed.

Maybe the backlash on your motor pinion and belt gear are too tight? Does your rotor head spin freely clockwise and counter clockwise? Mine spins in either direction about 6 complete turns. If yours is set up right and it's still not getting the head speed up, then it probably has something to do with how your transmitter and ESC is set up? I don't use the governor on my ESC, I set the head speed with my throttle curve and pitch curve. Try tuning off the ESC governor and see what happens from there.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

My LHS owner is having the same exact issue with his L10 with, I believe, the same ESC but with a C50-13L. It should work with 12-cells but even with a 14-cell pack his head speed is way too low compared to what it should be.

He plans to try regular throttle mode but just hasn't had a chance.

It will be very interesting to find out what the issue ends up being.

I am going to try with the regular throttle mode in the next few days and will post results. I too have heard that this would work better. No idea why though ??

I use C50 13L with 13T and get far higher headspeed, but I'm not running governer mode. Yes, rpms go up noticably without governer mode, and you really don't need to governer function int he ESC anyway. I run 80% straight across, and 100% straight across (the motor doesn't really load appreciably, maybe a 20 rpm headspeed drop at full load, it just draws more current to maintain rpms,.. this is far different than a glow motor would do).

Oh yea, changing from Governor to normal mode made all the difference. Suddenly I have a constant 1800 head speed and everything gets very smooth.
Why did I never hear about this problem before. Everybody talks about governor mode when you get much better performance without it.
Thanks everybody for your input and advise
