Can anyone reccomend some good carbon blades for the raptor 50. I have been using sab550s on my raptor 30 and was looking for something similar in carbon for the raptor 50.

Speedy,

Just use SAB 600 mm
they are available in fiber or carbon.

I use the fiber one ($50 at cyberheli).
They are excellent.

I am using Century Vortex blades part #CN2502. The are 600 carbons. w/ white gel coat. They work great.

I have had problems with the Vortex blades woofing on an Ergo and on a friend's Raptor. These were the 550 mm Vortex CF blades.

I've also used the Vortex 550 Carbons when my Raptor was still a 30 and they worked fine, provided you take the slop out of the grips and flap collars. I also did a zero delta mod with extenders from a JR Vigor on my stock grips to reduce pitch change while blade flapping occured. I don't really think that there are really any "bad" blades out there, just bad stock unmodified Raptor heads.

I still have these blades in storage. I'll try them on my R30 and see what they do, it is very tight. They did woof pretty bad on my Ergo which had the bearing upgrades and was relatively slop free.

I really like the The World Models blades, they are cheap and they fly great. The come in Semi and Sym.

The SAB 600's are great, a little heavy which is nice for autos.

The MS570's are lighter and offer a different performance level

The 550's can work nicely, but better have a governor, and you won't be able to use all the power.

I was checking out Heliproz.com. I saw that they carry SAB main blades but I could not find the SAB 600mm blades that fit the Raptor 50. I am willing to step up from the $26 woodies, but not ready to take the plunge for $100 CF blades.

I checked ronlund.com and heliproz.com and do not see the "SAB 0331 600mm FRP blades". The message just above says to check Miniature Aircraft so you might try there. If you tried Sheldon at http://www.yntdesign.com and he does not have them, then you can order outside the U.S. from http://www1.cyberheli.com/SAB/index.htm

That is what I thought too about the SAB's but i would rather check them out before i use them because i bought a several sets of sab550's and i had one pair that was really bad for some reason and have been using a Koll rotor balancer to balance them.
