Hello Logo flyers. I'm still a beginner but am flying a Eco 8. I would like to get another heli that is more stable and tougher. I've been thinking about a Raptor 50, but going nitro seems like such a hassel and expensive. Then I tough how bought a Logo 20, so the quiestion is how do they compare. Roughly the same weight?, what are the flight times like? I have 10 cell packs for the Eco so I could just double up and make 20 packs for the logo correct? the raptor is nice b/c you can get parts anywhere, how does the 20 survive wrecks. ANy info would be great!

i have a logo 20. it's a pretty good heli. it flies good and is much lighter than a raptor (without batteries). how much it weighs with batteries and how it performs depends greatly on which batteries you use. with the latest LiPo batteries (tanics), the logo 20 can weigh less than a raptor 50, and have more power. flight times depend on how much battery you want to carry. minimum on tanics would be around 10 minutes of hard 3D. you could get 20+ minutes with more cells in parallel, but of course you sacrifice power to weight ratio.

as far as crashing goes, the logo is more expensive than a raptor. parts are also not as readily available. it's usually not a problem getting parts thru mail order, but you're not likely to find them at your LHS.

if you want maximum performance, i'd choose the logo. if you'd rather have cheap parts and a more durable heli, then go with an electric raptor. an electric conversion kit is available:

logo 20

Hey thanks forthe reply, I thought I would get more. I am really thinking about getting the 20. What are the suggestions for servos and motors. Micro digitals and a Trango were my first choice. Hopeing to start with 20 cell nicads and nimh's as I fly my Eco on 10 cells.

I really like my Logo 20
I don't think you will be unhappy
I am flying on 24 cells so I can't help you on what motor to run with 20 cells.

Guessing a Hacker C50 15XL with 10 tooth pinion would be a good start for 20 cells But I will run some numbers and let you know what I come up with

As for servos I am using the JR 9411 mid size servos
I haven't hear of anyone using micros but I would bet that if you can find a micro that has more the 55oz TQ you would do OK for hovering and FF If you are moving into 3D I would go with a better servo
I hope that help

don't even think about using a micro servo on this heli. the minimum would be a mini servo. i use the JR 3421 digital mini servo. it's light but has plenty of torque. people have also used hitec 225 minis, which are nice and cheap.

btw, 20 cells on the logo 20 is going to leave it pretty underpowered. it will hover and do forward flight, but if you're used to glow power it will feel like a dog. i would recommend 24 cells on a tango 45-8 or plettenberg 300/25/A3.

Dude,
Excellent choice, nice kit builds very well . . .just build it stock at first.

You can allways upgrade it after you roll it up in a ball!

24cells, JR mini's are the way to go! The Thunder Tiger Black/White cfk 600mm blades also fly great and are much cheaper, like $64 set!
