| We have (or had -- I don't know if it's been returned, sold, trashed, etc..) a new ri200 that was built to carry a Panasonic DVX100. We ordered it Jan. 13, 2003 and just received it a few weeks ago. Rhandal kept telling us that the new design was still under development, thus the delay. I had high hopes and a healthy amount of respect for Rhandal because my thinking was that I liked the fact he wouldn't release a product until it was ready and met his expectations.
In short, I was extremely disappointed with the mount, when we did finally get it about 9-10 months later. There was no way I would even fly it with our camera because it was an accident waiting to happen. The method used to support the camera was thoroughly inadequate and could easily bend (which it did after not very rigorous bench testing) or break off. There was excessive slop in the rotating parts, one or more of the shafts rotated freely in the gears (which I never could get tight enough) and, although I never flew it, I didn't like the isolators used.
