mount

I sold 1 observer. I had 2, sold 1 and still have one forsale. You probably keep seeing the new ads i keep placing for the one i still have.
I dont have any footage yet with the new unit but when I get it I will post it. I just got this set up finished today so It will take me a bit to test everything and get it working right.
I really have no idea how the video will turn out on this thing. I was taking a gamble myself when i purchased it... But when i post it you guys can be the judge and decide if you like it or not.

We have (or had -- I don't know if it's been returned, sold, trashed, etc..) a new ri200 that was built to carry a Panasonic DVX100. We ordered it Jan. 13, 2003 and just received it a few weeks ago. Rhandal kept telling us that the new design was still under development, thus the delay. I had high hopes and a healthy amount of respect for Rhandal because my thinking was that I liked the fact he wouldn't release a product until it was ready and met his expectations.

In short, I was extremely disappointed with the mount, when we did finally get it about 9-10 months later. There was no way I would even fly it with our camera because it was an accident waiting to happen. The method used to support the camera was thoroughly inadequate and could easily bend (which it did after not very rigorous bench testing) or break off. There was excessive slop in the rotating parts, one or more of the shafts rotated freely in the gears (which I never could get tight enough) and, although I never flew it, I didn't like the isolators used.

Mount

Well, Im not sure how great the mount is yet either.....but Rhandal has been very helpful to get it set up the way I want it. I am a bit concerned with the strenght of the gear legs. I returned it to him to change some things on it and got it back monday. Some things have been changed but I found another problem i need to have fixed. I will keep you guys posted.

In your opinion....
Is there any true professional setup in the market today?
or...
Have you seen any true professional setup around ready to be copied?

Remote i

Well I havn't used my Remote i mount yet but even if there are some basic issues with it i feel the camera mount itself has potential to be a very good system. The quality of the parts is very good. I dont really like the landing gear legs but I am working on changing that. And if there are problems with it Rhandal has been really supportive and has even driven an hour each way to pick up my mount, fix it ,and return it so as far as im concerned his mount is just as good as anything on the market and his support on the mount has been great.

Mounts

He didn't drive to my house to repair it. It was to set it up properly to my helicopter and my exact camera so that I didn't have to do it myself.
And basically there really isnt a mount out there in the $1500 price range that will do what all you guys are expecting., Sooo complaining about each system isn't going to do any good. I didn't want to spend $15,000 on a mount so i bought one for $1500 with the assumption that I would have to be modified it to make it perform more like an expensive unit. And basically......the REMOTE I system has the most potential for modification and to work great. (in my opinion)
Also copied is a pretty strong word to use about Remote i's mount. It may have simularities of other systems but I wouldn't call it copied. And who cares if it was copied every system out there is partly copied or influenced of other systems. This entire world is based on copies, replicating and influences of other peoples inventions.

I would like to make a public apology to Remote i for my post concerning our past business. He did indeed credit our account for the full amount as of 11-17-03, more than 30 days after the cancellation of the order. We were not notified by Rhandel or the Disputes Department that this matter had been closed.
