About how much will an average crash set you back with a fury expert? I heat it's pretty spendy.

There is some chart floating around where someone added up the clost of parts from different helis. The Fury was more than a Raptor to crash, but less than a Vigor by far. It did not look that bad.

I know its a lot. I would guess an average crash would be like 300-400 since I have 100 dollar SAB's

Ron or os max, Your crashes should be less because you only have a 50 size.

When comparing crash cost between helis, why even add in the blades. No matter how hard you crash, no matter what heli you are flying, you will get the blades. Not having a Fury, I can't give you a range of costs to repair one, but if it truely has less parts than the SE's, it should be less than one of those. About the worst of those that I have seen, it cost about $500, including blades, so about $400 for actual heli parts. That included the whole SE99 graphite front end, the gears for the split auto gear, the fan, the fan shroud, the landing gear, the canopy, all the normal bent up head parts and several other parts. Most cost less. If you get lucky, it could cost as little as $200, plus blades, sometimes less than that. As David pointed out, threre is no such thing as an average crash, they are all different.

What I was trying to imply by average crash is really the cost. I probably should have articulated that and said the aaverage crash cost. Sure different things break during crashes, but I would say that pretty much in every crash minor or not usually the blades, boom, spindle, flybar, and maybe the torque tube break. This would be around 100 and it would be 200 for me since I inlude blades in for the cost.

So there is 200 minamal for a crash. It is a little less then a raptor kit. I think that a crash would cause more then that since it is a 60. maybe the main gear, canopy since it is fiberglass, tail rotor shaft, landing gear, main shaft, amybe a few others. this stuff probably adds up to 150 more.

I know this is a Fury discussion, but two posts ago somone said "A little less than a Raptor." I have seen 3 Raptor 30 crashes this week.

#1, only thing that went was a $6 spindle and a gyro. Let's eliminate the gyro from the cost as being Raptor-specific.

#2, $6 spindle only (heli fell from 30-40 feet).

#3. Flybar wire, tail boom, horz stablilizer, blades. About $40 (assuming $15 blades from Helihut). Heli landed on blades which spun it hard.

Again, no two crashes are alike. Two weeks ago I had a simple boom strike with the little Raptor, it wiped out the blades, boom, horizontal stab and mount, the boom braces, spindle, one of the flybar control links, one blade mount, the tail output shaft, tail pitch spyder, tail pitch control bellcrank, flybar and graghite tail push rod. If you have to replace the blades, boom, spindle and flybar, you might just as well get the crash kit. With the extra parts, it came to about $80. Considering I average crashing the little thing every three months or so, that is still cheap fun. I have put as little as $30 into a R30 rebuild, last summer my son made a rictor scale landing that cost over $150. There is no way to tell in advance what any heli will cost to rebuild, you can only predict that most any 60 will cost more than most 30s to rebuild.

I don't think I will crash, ron, but I know you and paul will. When you do you might see a vulture flying overhead. saying " HHHHHHMMMMMMMMM you want that canopy or the other sab blade" You might also hear, " Is that gv1 okay, I could use one on my fury".

3-d, Is that what you call that crazy stuff. looks like radio interference sometimes. I thought that was why your torque tube fell apart. I thought 3-d was actually flying up side down.

No I can do more then hover. Without the radio I think I paid less then a 1000 for my raptor 30. You can't be talking about my fury. I paid over 1000 for that.

It's obvious you fly at the same field. I think everyone here would appreciate it if you took this elsewhere, perhaps instant messenger or something. And you're right, this thread isn't about raptors, and it isn't about your long standing jokes.

Hey, this topic is about crashing and we did say something about crashing , so we are saying a little on topic.

This quote said by me proves it.

'Ohh !!! you mean plowing the heli into the ground'

And ron, I think you might be getting you and me confused. I don't wear that stuff, but you might since there is pink and purple on your canopy

I think you should let the public see the other side of pauls canopy. It has a gash in it when he did something.

I guess I can say paul had a crash and he was lucky enough to not pay anything. He just has an imperfection in his canopy from when a blade hit it. I think that is what happened.

When I crash at least I have the skill to repair my canopy and repaint to to its original form. You would have to pay another 100 there.

My canopy doesn't look that bad. I showed off my fury last weekend and somebody actually did think I did have a professional pint job. That picture that you have ron is with my fury without the clearcoat. I also painted my fins a matching yellow.

I don't make everthing look ugly. Look at my skybolt and then pauls.

This one is mine and it is a lot better. I took the picture and the camera even said it was better then pauls.
