Hi,

Hv problem charging my 2 cells Kokam 1500mAh Lithium polymer batteries with Hobbico charger which I bought previously.

I charged only for 30 mins.. and theres a beeping sound and flashing of LEDs on the Hobbico unit.

Hv anyone experience this before?

Voltage Input 12V and 1 A.

As am aware that when charging with Hobbico, its max rating for Lithium is 1A.

Hi Klaudius,

Thanks for your reply. But hv checked the voltage and found it is not 8.4V... as it is only 4.8V.

Am not too sure why. But when charging the bird seed... hv no problem. Am currently waiting for reply from Hobbico... for support.

It could be either my 1500mAh Kokakm Lipo... is not functioning well. How do you check whether the battery is OK?

Hi man,
same problem with kokam 1200! Charged only to 70% of capacity. I bought it from HeliHobby and they replyed that they will ask Hobbico because many users have this problem :-((( I think this charger was not made for Li-po/li-on cells. I will try to open it and find somethink.

Hi Renda,

Looks like both of us having the same problem. Just received feedback from Hobbico, that the settings should not be more than 1 A. But I had set it as it is 1 A... or as described on the manual at 500 mA.. but still the same.

Please advise on your new findings.

Currently am using the birdseed... am not sure whether it is able to charge the Lithium Ion... Hummingbird upgrade battery of 11.1V 700mAH.

If you are only measuring 4.8 V on a 2S pack than the pack is probably toast. The minimum voltage for a LiPo cell is 3 V and, therefore, your pack should never read below 6 V.

Is it possible that you have damaged the pack by overdischarging it (i.e. allowing it to discharge below 3 V per cell)?
