Cypher EX is made in Taiwan. The company has a website WWW.tkrc.net. The site shows CAD drawings detailing its construction. Cyberheli has photos of the various sections of the heli. The rotorhead appears to be similar to the older Sceadu head. Control is push/pull CCPM. The servos are installed close to the swashplate which should provide minimum slop and powerfull collective and cylic control. The fuel system comes with an integrated header tank installed between the frames. It has a belt driven tail rotor. The tail rotor is very similar to the Raptor but from the looks of it not driven (I think the company also makes upgrade parts for the Raptor). If the tail is driven, it would have to be by slipper clutch. The cooling system is very interesting in that it uses a separate ducted cooling fan that is belt driven by the engine. Just by looking at it cooling should be very good. However, I can't tell looking at the drawing if the fan is ball bearing supported. Also the belt looks similar to an O ring which makes me wonder about its durability and how easy or difficult it would be to change it. One thing, if the belt breaks, there goes the cooling for the engine. Changing the belt on a periodic basis should help. Their web site has movies showing the heli flying around but no aerobatic stuff. We will not know its capabilities until somebody buys and test one out. Any beta testers out there? Cypher EX sells for 200 U.S.D. plus 65 shipping.

The fan diagram on the website shows the recess for the bearings so I should imagine it is, as for the O-Ring belt drive fan, it seems to be durable enuff for the caliber 60's and 90's so for a lowly 50 shouldnt be a problem...

Anyway, I will know for sure on monday when mine arrives and will do a full build report with photos...

Waiting for fitment are OS50, Hatori 540 Tuned Pipe, 3x811's CSM560 and 8700 servo...

All spanky new

It better fly as good as it looks

Just make sure you put miracle grow on your field and get it real overgrown, so when it crashes you can pick it up and fly it again.

Blimey,

Even if it only hovers and does circuts, with a few loops and rolls thrown in, jeez for 200 US Dollar = 118.701 British Pound - how can you go wrong, will still be looking foward to hear, how you get on with this budget baby

Link to the Cyper website, some 3d vids here, well sort of

Hey Kaz

I am looking to equip it with top gear and see how it can really perform...

Have a couple of top 3d fliers lined up to put it thru its paces...

I think this could be the new raptor..

Whats going on here??? This is to good to be true Or this is a release special price?

How long is this Cypher company on the market. Do you know if they have find a distribuitor or dealer in USA?

Oh Boy...

Howdy!!
Man! I can't believe I sat through that whole DAMN video... That thing was worse than "My Dinner with Andre".. Sleepville... I could really wow these folks with just a Kraptor 30..
I guess the full scale heli and the crashes were the most exciting part, eh?? Two observations: 1. Man these people are dangerous... Did you see the father and son walking on the sidewalk about 6 feet from the hovering heli that had crashed 3 times and was running a head speed roughly equivalant to the orbit velocity of electrons around a Uranium atoms' nucleus????
2. Asians will photograph/videotape ANYTHING regardless of how mundane and boring it is... The camera is like a bottle of gin to an alcoholic.. It's there, damn it, gotta use it..

The heli comes with metal frames and a number of metal parts as well...

It is a hybrid of a lot of other designs and retains quite a bit of interchangeability with those helis...

The head block is metal and the flybar carier but I think the grips are plastic as is the teeter block...

It looks as though the swash is metal along with the washout hub..

I dont know about ball race levels...

They dont have a US distributor but all spares are available from cyberheli within 2 days, so should be good...

I will let you all know more on monday with a full build review and then flight testing from next weekend hopefully..

Thankfully I have some slightly more skilled fliers to test this than seen on the video...

Hello Galifrey,

Could it be possible that you mention what parts are interchangeability with what brand of helis?

I think that the Swach Plate is similar/identical to the Kyosho Concept.
Also I think it use some part on the tail that belong to Kyosho.

Good look on your Step by Step picture asembly. Men for $200.00 I will by severals for practice 3D

I don't see a driven tail, or thrust bearing in the blade grips. Are those going to be upgrades?

I've just received one from CH. I can't believe what the kit contains for $200, even down to a set of rubber skid stops for the uc

doubt it has a driven tail but it looks like 2 ballraces and thrustbearings in the blade grips, will let you know for sure when it arrives, TBH most beginners wont want a driven tail, and I think thats who the kit will most appeal to...

A slipper unit is always an option
