I see they both have the fury expert 60 -- heliproz is considerably less -- I am wondering if there is a difference between the kits to account for the cost?

I was assuming cyberheli was always the cheapest -- is this not true in this case?

thanks

maybe by time you consider that your taking a machine built
in Florida, shipping it the Far East and back again and pay the
various taxes and fees vs. having MA UPS a big box to Montana
(which is in the US from what I understand) that would explain the
difference.

BUY AMERICAN!

The guys at Heliproz are great people and a good resource. One Dnager of overseas outfits is the potential for grey or even black market parts, fraud and high shipping rates. Cyberheli has a very good rep, but I prefer to keep things in my backyard.

If Heliproz is lower, it is no contest. No import duty to pay, etc.

If CyberHeli is $100 less, then consider that.

yeah -- i'll probably go with heliproz -- bought from them quite a few times -- i was just surprised to see their prices lower than an overseas place.

What are you talking about giheli!!?

giheli

Please can you substantiate your claims that overseas market is full of 'blackmarket parts' and 'fraud? 'Unless you can, I think you are totally out of order making such outrageous claims.

Do you own an American radio? Is every component of your heli made in the USA?

The rest of the world is waiting to hear your reply.....

Shagga,

Whoa whoa, I hope its just the limit of words in email that make your inquirey sound harsh and heated. I certainly didn't mean to offend or sound overly patriotic-a common and understandable practice here in the US these days.I will assume that it is a productive discussion and nothing more

I believe I said that purchasing overseas carried an increased potential for fraud and the emergence of less than genuine parts. I certainly wasn't directing this at the UK, but there are countries that carry increased risk for you or I. I still buy from Modelsport.

1st. It is difficult to enforce trade and commerce laws on companies outside US or your borders. SImilarily you enjoy more protection by buying within the borders of the UK, and we in the US. This simply a matter of law. As a result fraud is much more liklely to occur and harder to prosecute. Maybe I should have said grey instead of black market, but there are black market parts in every industry if there is a dollar to be made-my minor mistake I will edit that for future viewers.! Ever compare a fake to a real ROLEX?

However,
Parts bought outside of US borders do not typically carry US warranties-there are exceptions and some foreign companies do have good warranty policies and honor them as I said many do have good reps, but there is still a differentg risk assumed with purchases overseas. If it fails soon after purchase the item you havce no US law protectoin AND if you need it serviced it can often be difficult. I have had horrendous luck camera and tech equippment bought just over the border in Canada. I now buy only US market stuff WITH a US warranty. Granted I new they were grey market and that is the risk I was taking. However, there is a specific example.

2nd Case in point: A large number of new products are not even being made available in China because they will be copied and sold as genuine.

All the best,

I hope this clarifies my statement,

Heliproz

I talked to different suppliers, included my local LHSs and Heliproz was the only place willing to answer question for someone just getting in to helis. As a result of (Kurt's, I think that was his name) willingness to help I oldered everything, and I do mean everything I needed to get in to helis, except fuel from these folks. Incuded were Rappy 60 kit w/OS, tools, upgrades, fuel pump, starter, crash kit, training gear, add-on for my G2, gyro w/ 9253 and JR PCM10 just to hit the high spots. Now if ican just find time to assembly the heli.

Cyberheli vs Heliproz

I think both places are great.I ordered my Sceadu 30 , RD6000 radio,
JR410t gryo and O.S.32 from Heliproz and numerous parts for my Raptor when I owned it . I too was shy of ordering from over sea's but one day I decided to give Cyberheli a try. I ordered a Sceadu canopy ,windshield and fin set. The price was half of what I would of paid here in the US and speed post shipping was $15.00 not bad for that distance. And in four days my parts were here I was surprised and pleased at just how easy it was. I think we are fortunate that we have so many great places to order our parts from. Heli-proz , cyberheli , Ricks ,
gr8lakes just to name a few . Buy where you think you are getting the best deal from and thats what free market is all about. I'am done.

I've never bought from CyberHeli yet.. but will someday soon.. I'd have to say Heliproz rocks IMO. What other retailer would discourage you from getting certain parts that you specify simply because it is not really needed and will save YOU money??? I probably had about $40 worth of parts that I thought I needed but they told me that they were not necessary.... That's honest service right there!

Man you guys are tense!

First of all my original comment was just a beware, not a direct accusation. Second, my comments were directed towards purchases of any kind (Not just Heli) outside the US border. I can't believe people haven't heard of the practices in counterfeit merchendise.

I won't play the game of putting words in someone else's mouth those who do shouldn't. And finally BE NICE.! There is no room on this dicussion board for such raindeer games. I have made an honest effort to keep my discourse light & cordial, and see no reason to stop this practice. You will notice I also said that Cyberheli has a good rep.

Don't take my word for it, read consumer reports or even the back of an issue of any photo mag where they almost always give a disclaimer and advice about ordering by mailorder or internet. It was a simple buyer beware. I am sure there is a lawyer or two on this site that will substantiate the notion that you lose certain protections when you order outside the confines of the FTC and the US. Yes INTERPOL is supposed to act as a watch dog but their resources are even more limited then ours.

Yes I can "get out", but that pretty much shoots down the purpose of a public forum, now doesn't it.

Patriotic! I already apologized for fear that I was sounding like a patriotic zealot of which I certainley did not intend. Again read the words as they are written-don't fabricate them into something else. Besides, Do you know what my current citizenship status is?

If you're in fact an Altech rep, you will be bounced out
of the program the moment they (Altech) find out you purchase
any Hirobo product overseas.

That is a really sleazy move.

I had a non-catastrophic 401 failure, a spanking new 60 engine with a stuck idle needle, a servo failure (on ground), and an odd servo problem. All within about a month of each other after having much good luck. I thanked the heli gods that they were all under warranty. Heliproz took the engine back. The rest went to Hobby Services which didn't give me any trouble and replaced everything.

Once again, 25% is not a little bit more. If it breaks, don't sent it to Japan, throw it away. If this happens less than 25% of the time (it will), then you will be ahead. A Warranty is not worth 25%.

what's the big deal?

I've ordered a few things from CyberHeli - great guys, great prices. 95% of the time I order from Rick's or HeliProz - also great guys, also great prices. I prefer to support US businesses and manufacturers when it's not fiscally stupid to do otherwise.

What is the big deal about what giheli said? He's right!

"One Dnager of overseas outfits is the potential for grey or even black market parts, fraud and high shipping rates."

The keyword is POTENTIAL... I got duped by some Greek guys who were offering heli products at highly discounted prices. Since the offenders were in Greece, I was S.O.L. (for our slang-impared friends, that's 'Scheisse Out of Luck').

A heli shop that will remain nameless in PA sells grey market Chinese parts! Why is anyone surprised that they're likely more common in... oh I dunno, CHINA!

Lay off giheli, he's right to say the potential exists and IF you get duped, you're pretty much screwed.

CyberHeli rocks - giheli even said they have a good rep. I also hear good things about RotorHobby and Heli-Kraft. Simply stating the POTENTIAL for grey market parts, fraud, etc. isn't saying that when you order a Freya EX from CyberHeli it's fake! If you read that from his post then you must trip when reading the newspaper.

Shagga, did giheli say that overseas markets are FULL of 'blackmarket parts' and 'fraud?'

No, he did not.

Now everbody quit pissing into the wind and go work on your helis.

Geeze guy's -- BUY where you WANT to buy from. I have bought from Helihut, Heliproz, Ron Lunds, the BC6 guy and a host of others -- i buy from where I want to when i want to and I know the consequences.

I simply started this thread because I was curious as to the reasons why THE low cost Heli Dealer was being Beaten by a US heli Dealer(at the time I had no intention of buying anything -- merely stating a curiosity)

Once the idiot light turned on and I realized (like those have pointed out) that the shipping to and fro for the MA brands probably accounted for the cost difference -- i was through with the thought.

Yes sometimes it can really be as simple as that
