Well, Jeff, I'll agree with you. But when some of the components aren't up to snuff, building it right and setting it up correctly can make no difference at all.
I don't know what this guy's problem is, and I agree that he has taken the absolute wrong approach to solving it, but I'm about to have to drop $40+ on some decent bearings to try to make my Hawk Sport work. Six critical bearings on it have either puked or are very close to it; after two and a half tanks.
I certainly didn't expect Timken or NTN bearings for $160, but two and a half tanks?????
I'm not whining or raising hell about it because nobody twisted my arm to make me purchase this machine. I knew full well the risks of what I might get for $160. And while I'm sure Dennis would send me replacement bearings if I asked for them, why putz around with the same bottom quality?
But you can rest assured that I'm none too happy about it. And while I'm no guru, by any means, I have built a machine or two...
So, ya might stop & think before questioning someone's intelligence. I've been pissed enough at one particular vendor to show my ass publicly the way this guy has.
That doesn't make it right, but it sure is real...
