Where can I find the best price on a CCPM card for the stylus?

Got one

I found ordering from Airtronics themselves was the cheapest. I wasn't expecting that.

I got mine from Heliproz and I thought I got a good deal on it.

I called Heliproz and they had them for $129.99 but were out of stock so I called Airtronics to see if they had them (which they did) and they sold me one for $109.99. I was shocked when I heard that. I figured that they would try to sell it for the retail price of 199.99. It should be here in the next few days.

Yeah, you did get a good deal. I don't seem to remember paying that much from HeliProz though. I bought it about a year and a half ago. I guess the price must have gone up since then.

I'm just starting the tail boom assembly on my new Fury and then will be setting up the radio. I've never used this card 'til now even though I bought it some time ago. Do you know if there is anything "special" for setting up the CCPM on the Stylus that I should be aware of???

I don't know anything about the CCPM card yet. It wont be here until saturday. If it is like everything else on the Stylus it should be easy to set up. I just got my Fury today and am going to start on it ASAP. If you find anything durring the building or set up process you want to share, e mail me at nks_97@yahoo.com. Alan Szabo flys for Airtronics, he could help you out on the Stylus setup.

Nick,
Thanks for reminding me about Alan. If I run into problems I'll see if he can help.

As for building the Fury, all is going according to the instructions. One thing I've done is read the building review on Helibuf.com website.

Although....Get the clips installed on the washout pins. DON'T do the CA trick. I drilled a hole about 3/8" deep into a block of hardwood. Once you get the clip onto the end of the pin, place the pin over the hole and use a small hammer to tap it further onto the pin. I ended up using a fairly large screw driver to get the clip to spread wide enough.

The only things I have any real questions about are that my auto-rotation gear seems a little tight. I don't know if it will loosen up after a while or not.

the other thing is the swashplate. The instructions have you put the four set screws into the swashbase to pre-load the bearing. I've tightened the heck out of those screws but I don't feel any difference. In fact, I think I might have stripped the threads of one of them. At this point I just stopped trying to adjust them. I figure they're all tight and not going to fall out so if the bearing gets loose then I'll try to adjust them again???

I was noticing the same thing on the auto hub. I guess it will losen up with use. Do you want any up and down play in that assembly? Right now I have none but in the instructions it mentions that up to .5mm is aceptable. What do ya' think?

Setting up CCPM with the new card is easy. I had it working in no time at all. If anyone is interested, I have an old style non CCPM Stylus heli card that I would let go cheap.

Nick,
Mine has no play as well but I ended up using both the thick and the thin shim. I'm thinking that the bronze bushings holding the sprag gear in are what is tight. I'll bet they loosen up after a flight or two.

GMP.... I took my card manual and went through it again. I don't think it'll be hard.

Later,
Mike
