Ok thanks you all for the answers.
I'll save some money and but TG 690, SAB and Razor 700 and try. I guess i'll crash them some day anyway so it's never bad to have some spareblades

Cheers Andreas

Blade length

I'd just like to pick up on what Mark Christy said about blade length and it's relationship to stability in the hover.

What he's saying makes good sense in my opinon. The bigger the blades, the lower the 'wing loading' and therefore the model will feel 'lighter' and more susceptible to wind gusts am I right?

For example, should the model not sit more 'heavier' in a wind gust when using 700 blades rather than 720's?

What's everyone's opinion on this?

Si,

The reason I believe shorter blades work better in the wind is because they are more highly loaded. Take an aeroplane with a really light wing loading.. they don't fly well in the wind at all..

Also.. look at the petrol helicotpers and the original Futura.. all very heavy models.. but hover brilliantly!

To get the same effect on your lighter model you have to reduce the blade diameter.. but obviously you can go too far..

Wayne,

I am hoping to be at Spain.. I was pretty gutted after Japan.. things didn't go to plan there.. but I suppose top 15 with 2 zerod autos can't be that bad...

A lot of guys are going to France.. but I won't be.. too many family and work commitments now I'm afraid!

Cheers

Mark

Thanks for that Mark, your explanation does make a lot of sense, I will try that out.
