carabiner, their 9.6V 2100 mAh NiMH. They sell them in all the R/C shops here. I'm not sure where to order them on-line? I just sold 1 of these packs on ebay Australia last month. The highest bid was $37.50 AUD ($27.10 USD). He got a deal on it, because I paid $59.00 AUD ($42.65 USD) for it.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

the 9Z uses a special battery holder but
the battery inside is nothing special.
Just a basic 8cell 'transmitter' pack that
a million vendors sell.

So, you need a new battery holder
(I got mine from Radio South in FL for
about $25) and then you'll need to buy
a pack of your choice and solder it in.

you also want to cut the trace to bypass
the diode so you can charge inside the 9Z. All told, the project was about $50

If you want very powerfull and reliable charger don't go for less than Schulze ISL. It's used in race enviroments like rc-cars and you know, they do really "bad" things to their batteries. You can connect it to PC and store data/charts so you know what is going with your batteries. High charge rates + 2 channels is worth the money.
All batt.chargers more or less charge but marginal difference is how much capacity they can use from your batteries and how long your bateries would last.
It comes from personal experience and I also know many people with Schulze which are 100% satisfied.
