| Yeah, it is quite aggravating. Being basically computer-ignorant, I don't have any knowledge on how to defeat it.
But my brother, who is a main-frame programmer for Albermarle Chemical and into the internet big-time, told me that a lot of people make money by infiltrating newsgroups, snaring e-mail addresses, and providing same to these spammers. Unless I'm mistaken, there's not much one can do about that from his home PC.
I wish there was a program you could use in a reply to these bastards that would nuke their equipment into next week.
I used to be on several other "lists", and never got the first bit of spam until I signed on to the Yahoo Groups X-Cell List (at least, I think it is Yahoo). Could it (the spam) possibly becoming in through that? I wouldn't know the difference; all I know is that crap is in my in-box every day.
Unless someone has a suggestion for blocking all of this crap, I think I'm going to unsubscribe; and change my e-mail addy if it takes that.
