| I purchased a new Nuclear power 3300 NiMH ,Ma 7 cell battery pack two weeks ago to fly in my new Corona. THe battery has been awesome up to now, lots of power, 12-14 min. on a charge with gentle FF. No crashes on it, always charged with a Pihrana digital peak charger.
Today, I finished a charge, plugged it in and it charged as it should. Re-connect it to the Corona, it armed the system as it normally does, powered up, then the motor slowly wound down and stopped. Checking it I noticed a buring smell, and found the end cell (mounted sideways) appears to have shorted out. solder connections are intact but sooty looking, and the plastic sleeve over the battery has two holes melted through. The plastic sleeve was fine when I mounted the battery a couple of minutes before
Anyone know of problems with these batteries? I run the 6 cell version in a large R/C tank with no problems, gobs of power, and no charging issues.
Can I repair it by replacing the dead cell, or is the entire pack history?
thanks!
