Hey, when I do a charge then discharge with the triton, how can you tell the capacity of the battery, when I charged one tonight it took a little over 1000mah, then on the discharge it only gave up 740mah, which one should I take as what the battery is capable of doing??

Wedge,
It is the discharge number that you should be looking at. Every battery chemistry takes in more energy during a charge then it will ever put out. The charging process is not 100% efficient just as the discharge process is not.

For example, when slow charging a NiCd pack, it is pretty common to charge at C/10 for 14 hours. That is 140% of the rated capacity, but the cell will still only put out the rated capacity (at low discharge currents at that).

Have fun,
John
