I thought it would be appropriate for us who lost one of your members in the community to pledge a fund to help out the immediate family expense of Ron. All we need is an address to send the fund to a place where it can goes toward Ron's family.
I have my pledge of $20.00 goes to his family, just my small pledge but hope all will chipped in to help out. Thanks.

Wondered what his handle was on here, one of my first deals on RunRyder was buying an 8U radio from Ron. Although I never met him, our paths have crossed within the heli family.

When someone has the details on where to send money for the family, I will certainly help.

Ray

If I throw a stick, will you leave?

A good man, always willing to help others. Thanks, Ron.......for the memories.

It goes without saying: tough loss for us down here. Spoke to a couple of pilots here tonight. Guys that knew him better than I did. Not easy to talk about.

memorial.

Sounds like Ron didn't have any family other than a younger brother.
I think a memorial fund to the field/club for saftey improvements in his name would be fitting along with a serious amount of flowers for the service.
Could somebody local pick up the ball for collecting the money?
James you up to it?

Sound good to me Jason, as long as the fund goes for a good cause such as safety improvement.

Yes.

That is why we really need a local pilot to collect the funds.

Jason

There are a couple of guys here that are more in tune with the workings over at Bass. I will be talking to one of them in the morning, and will ask him if he can help facilitate the arraingements as far as flowers, ect.
They closed the RC section of the park temporarily (or so they say) and the outcome is obviously in doubt at this point.
Ron had an apartment that he shared with his brother. I am not aware of any children he had.
As I said, there are several guys that flew with him often that are more in tune with his personal situation and background than I am. I will update this thread as I find out more info useful to our desire to honor him in his passing, including internment arraingements if I can.

Some simple things I suggest you can do in the meantime:

Shake hands with a friend every chance you get. I remember mine with Ron at the Houston FF this year.

Follow up on committments: don't let the empty promise of "sure, lets get together sometime".....pass you by. DO IT. I got that one to deal with myself. Sorry, Ron.......guess I just didn't follow up, did I.

Never overheard Ron say "try". It was either you DO IT or you DON'T. A good lesson to be learned here.

anyway, I will keep you'all updated as I get more info.

James please keep us posted , and you know I won't be have an empty committment if i didn't started this thread. Although my it's a small amount I can contributes at the moment, I sure lots more will pledge their support to a down comrade. but NOT EVER be FORGOTTEN.

Yes, Peter

That is whom I will be talking to in the morning. If he is not able, then I will take the responsibility myself or find someone that can help with this. Your generosity and condolences are appreciated, folks.

Not sure what we can do: but to do nothing is worse.

The most traggic news I have ever read here and truly sad it being someone from this forum.

Like others I am happy to donate to a fund and suggest in addition, after Ron is laid to rest.
A permant memorial of some kind would help insure that Ron Kyle and the life lesson he has taught us in this gravest of indicents that cost him his life, is not forgotten by any of us, and likewise by those who take up flying in the future.

May he Rest In Peace.

All,
I am going to try to contact Ron's family. I am trying to get ahold of his brother today. The Houston pilots are all working together right now to organize this fund and I am asking ANYONE that has a picture of Ron Kyle(ERGODUDE) to e-mail them to me. I will be putting up a memorial on my website for Ron. (www.rotorworks.net).

Peter,
I will be calling you later this morning.....
