This is Julie, we also were at the showing tonight. Very emotional time for us. We met Ron's family and offered our sympathy. I had the chance to talk to Robert Smith (Ron's brother-in-law) and he wanted to let everyone know that if you send in a donation to Make it out to Ron Kyle Memorial Fund in C/O Darrell Kyle. They are trying to handle the estate without actually going thru an attorney or the courts because their was no will, and without Darrell's name on it, they won't be able to cash it without establishing a trustee. We are leaving in the morning for La and hope to meet some of you guys down there. Thanks for everything you have done for us and the Kyle family. May God bless all of you.

I am happy to hear that the AMA folks showed up to show their condolences, it brings a lgreater evel of my respect upon them.

Again, my best wishes for everyone involved, and I hoped that this has helped the healing process, and allowed you to communicate with people who had the same or feelings about this.

It is difficult to loose a loved one, or a friend, or mentor. And even more difficult under these circumstances. The fact that so many people have shown themselves to express and share their true, personal feelings has shown a lot to me about many people.

It truly displays that this 'hobby' can and does break down certain barriers in life to the basics of pleasure, enjoyment, the thrill of the experience, and the pain of loss and that it is truly worth the persuit. Above and beyond that, it shows me how much a selfless, eager to assist person such as Ron can make an impact in OUR world, and on the people in it. I know there are many folks with similar qualities out there, this hobby encourages it, and it is an important piece to many peoples puzzle, and an important role for those who take it upon themselves.

Please take care and know that we are behind you, and wish you the best. Always live your dreams, there are a lot of people who want to see you achieve them, time is precious and you must take the fullest advantage of it, with your family, with your hobby, and with anything you deem critical to you.

Im very, VERY sorry to hear about this. Accidents do happen and people do get hurt, but hearing the news never gets easy, and i would be inhuman if it did get easy. I was in a similar situation once and I easily could have killed myself. I was flying nose in when i had a brain fart and pushed the heli towards me. I don't think i thanked my brain enough for pulling down the collective as it could have been a terrible moment for me. I was also lucky not to be hit by one of the blades (wood) which flew about three meters from the impact zone. Its a good thing I was lucky, however poor Ron was not. Be carefull everyone, death should only occur of old age, not in such a manner.

I have to agree that the 35 minute response time is ridiculous and i can only wonder what would have been had they been faster.

To Darrell, Billy, Jullie and their son...

I dont usually post as I don't usually have much to say, but after seeing all that has been said and done here I had to add my thoughts and condolences.
As a relatively new flyer learning mostly on my own I have learned a great many things from everyone here.
Although I have never directly cooresponded with Ron I have read a goo many posts and always found his ideas and advice to have great merit.
I know that I will miss seeing his posts as will a great many of us.

To Darrel...I can't say anything to ease your pain at looseing your brother but I can say that you are not alone in your grief. Many of us feel this loss and shared it with you. Only time can heal those wounds... keep a stiff upper lip and drive on ...

Julie ... As has been said... You are the strength holding your family together. I admire your strength in this ordeal. I too have been up at nights holding loved one to keep them safe from nightmares and the like. I also know that dealing with the aftermath is much worse than dealing with the incident that caused it. All I can say is to stand tall for those involved and you all will make it through this as a family.

Billy... I can only imagine what your pain is like. I have lost friends before but never been as close to the circumstances as you are. The only advice I have is to understand that Ron made all his choices that day of his own free will. As others have said "If he didnt think it was a safe dird or that you werent ready he would never have given you control". Also, ask yourself... if this hadnt been fatal for him ...if he had only come out with a few cuts or whatnot...would he have blamed you? I have several dangerous hobbies includeing helis... I have helped train people in various aspects of them. Not once have I ever blamed a single "student" for harm done to me while I was teaching them. I say this knowing that Ron was a better teacher than I am and that he was a more patient man than I am...
This haveing been said ....you are not at fault. Trust in your wife and your son. Be with them and love tham. Together you will find your way into happier times.

To Julie and Billy's son... Firsat off ...sorry bout not haveing a name to post ..I either missed it or it wasnt posted prolly missed it as it is hard to read with the tears in my eyes.
Some 15 or 20 tears ago I was a young man myself full of questions and the need to understand. Some things like this have no answers...that was the hardest thing for me to understand while I was growing up. At your age I had not reallly seen anything as horrible as what you have but I came pretty close. I honestly dont remember how I came through the dark times but I did and so can you. My best advice is to talk. I know from when I was younger that is can be really hard to let your feelings out about things. It will help ...maybe not in not5iceable ways at first but after a bit you will see that it helps sooth the problem. You are definitely not alone. Your mother and father love youvery much...help them to help you, by doing this you will also be helping them.

To the RR community... I have found the response from our community to be deeply moveing. I can only say that I am proud to think of myself as a part of this group.

I know that when I return to the flight lines that I will be much more safety concious. I also know that I will not be able to put my bird in the air without thinking of Ron, Darrell, Julie, Billy and their son. I will fly for them ....

Someone obviously didn't read the whole story. Might try READING Slipknot. It tends to cut down on foot-in-mouth disease. Right now you should be tasting socks for a week.

the insensitive comment about buddy cords is rude and inappropriate.

It all was an unfortunate mistake and no one intended for it to happen. It doesn’t matter about what they should have done, it happened and we should learn from it. We can’t change the past.

I have spent the last four hours glued to this thread. Words cannot express what I feel. My heartfelt condolences for everyone involved.

This is a horrible tragedy. Let's not make it a waste... The next time you go flying, think of Ron.. Take the time to check over your machine... Don't rush... Remember to keep your distance... most importantly- if you feel you're losing it JUST DIDTCH IT! It isn't worth the risk... If this loss makes us a little more aware, and a little more careful, then someday, it will prevent this sort of thing from happening again, and then just maybe, it won't be as much of a loss.

I have been flying airplanes for several years now, and I bought my first heli a couple weeks ago. I have yet to have my first flight. Needless to say, this event has greatly changed the way I look at the machine sitting across the room... After reading these posts, I think I will sell my chopper, in exchange for a small electric Hummingbird or similar micro heli at least until I can get the hang of them.

Hang in there Darrel, Julie, Billy, and son. You're not alone!

I was reading all of this a couple of days ago and had to take a breather before I could come back and post. It is all so sad this accident happened.

My condolences, thoughts, and prayers go out to Ron, his family and all who knew Ron.

Also, my condolences, thoughts, and prayers go out to Billy, Julie, and their son Scott. I had dark times too when I was a little younger than Scott, only time could heal.

May God bless all of you.

RON KYLE MEMORIAL FUND PAY PAL LINK

For all those interested in the immediate surviving family of the late Ronald Kyle, a pay pal link has been re-established. Ronald was survived by two brothers, Robert Kyle of California and Darrell Kyle of Houston. Robert Kyle has established this fund for his special needs brother and has authorized its posting by me. Darrell Kyle was largely dependant on his late brother Ronald Kyle.

This is the address: ronkylefund@yahoo.com

FYI: I have been further authorized by the family to gather and liquidate the R/C equipment left by the late Ronald Kyle to aid in the interim support of Darrell Kyle. Many small items have been and will be sold locally however, the remaining equipment is as follows:

1. JR ERGO 50 - os50, century HVII tuned muffler, Futaba governor, cf mains/tails, 5000w/8700g, 3x9202, 1 x 3003, numerous purple adonized control system levers all around
2. JR ERGO 80 ccpm HYBRID - ws80, partially assembled
3. THUNDER TIGER RAPTOR 60 - os61sxhwc,hat2pc,9201/9253,cf frames/stiffner/tail blades, purple head button/rudder yoke & hub, 4 x nes 537, woody mains
4. JR 8103 manual trim

Please let your conscience be your guide and make serious offers. I have taken digital pics of the above and will post them in my gallery soon. I personally want to maximize the return on Ronnie's things to help his brother because that what I believe that he would have wanted and his surviving family concurs.

My condolescences to the families involved. Also a special one to the pilot of the craft. WHat a terrible ordeal he must be going through, blaming himself, second guessing everything, it must be hard. It is a dangerous game we play, I too hope to not hear of another tragedy like this for some time to come.

Moment of SIlence given for Ron........................
