Friend of mine has ECO8 with Hacker B50-11L (try "zapa" posts around here) but HACKER is rather expensive.
I've seen "zapa" flying the beats last week and it seems the motor is really good choice for more agresive flights but also with shorter fly times (around 6min/1700mA)
If you want it for standard use and fun fly then PHASOR 30-3 or MEGA 22/20/3HELI is probably good option for your money. If you want longer fly times then MEGA 22/20/4HELI is also a good choice but without much power for more agresive flights.

Here is also something from MEGA web page (translated from Czech)

Recommended for ECO 8:
- standard and sport flights: 10 cells, MEGA 22/20/3 HELI, 15 pinion, 3300 mAh bat., flight time 13,5 min.
- acrobatic and 3D flights: 10 cells , MEGA 22/30/2 HELI, 15 pinion, 3300 mAh bat., flight time 9 min ( full acrobatic, 3D )

hiroman,
I had an Eco-8 with the Mega 22/20/3H and a 15-tooth pinion on 10-cell 2400 SCR packs. I could only get 7.5 mins out of it so I'm not sure how in the world they claim 13.5 mins on a GP3300 pack. Power was ok but by no means stellar. Loops and rolls were no sweat.

But anyways, if you want to ask "the experts" for Eco-8 questions, I would head over to: http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/ubbt...hreads.php?Cat=.

Good luck,
John

I have to confirm JKos words - I was flying 22/20/3H 16t (10-cell) on even shorter flying time. I have no idea how Karel Matyas (Mega Motors) achived 13.5 min, but I see that unrealistics as well as some of Mega other recomendations.

22/20/3H isn't bad motor, it worth the price, but think Hacker is a better choice. The crucial point is Kv that should be somewhere in the range 1850-2100 rpm/V for a 10 cell (that sound me as an optimal). Unfotunatelly Jeti/Phasor 30/3 has just 1100rpm/V that leads to too big pinions.

Generaly speaking "screaming" ECO8 running NiCd/NiMh for 10 minutes and up is just a chimera. 1650 rpm (sweet loops) on just 10 cells requires power that could no NiCd/NiMh could offer such current for so long ...

So my summary is that I would recommend another motor - prefereably B11-50L or at least Mega 22/20/3H ... anyway fligth time just for about 6-7 minutes on NiCd/NiMh
