| I fly planks too. Most all plank flyers in the USA are part of the AMA.
Heck MOST plank clubs won't let you fly unless you are AMA insured.
As far as the magazine goes, you must ask yourself WHY there are so many control line articles and such month after month after month.
I can readily tell you, it isn't because there is a large control line population in the AMA. It is because the SMALL (less than 100) active control line flyers are constantly submitting articles for AMA to publish (bunch of old retired people with nothing better to do).
Even the articles that cover various non-heli competitions are written by "volunteers."
