Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Fury Extreme?????????

Does anyone know when the Fury Extreme is due to be "actually" released? I am about to buy a Fury 60 Expert, but would wait if the Extreme is on the horizon real soon. I am sure that this question has been asked. But I thought I would try and get a "real" update. With the YS 80 being about $250 I was thinking that it wouldn't kill me to get the rocket ship as opposed to going with the 60. Any help would be great.

Getting close

Hi Brian,

As a Miniature Pilot a talk with Tim frequently during our last converstion (Thursday morning) he was only waiting for a few new parts that were newly designed for the Extreme Kit (new longer main shaft and tail pitch slider assembly). He has finished the instructions and has priced out the kit for MA dealers.

I know that he wants to ship these kits as soon as possible and his only hold up is the new parts. IMHO the Extreme kit will ship within the next two to three weeks.

Hope this helps,

Darrell

WOW $1,120.00 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I will just skip it at that price. I will go for the 60 Expert for a little over half the price. But thanks for the imfo anyway.

MA has a list of $1619.95 for the SE, but you can get the kit from dealers for $1119.95. If the same % will apply to the fury extreme, according to the list price in the post above, that will put it at about $772.80. But considering the extras above and beyond the expert, is $100.00 more going to be enough?

Now for $772.80 I would go for it. But IMPO $1120.00 is a little steep. Anyone have an actuall number on what it will be for sure?

price

I too have heard between 850-900.

Besides the gear change for converting a .60 to a .90, what else is "necessary"? Can the .60 use 700 mmm mains? What size tail blades are recommended for using the .90?

Thanks

American $ or Canadian $

Maybe I'm ignorant, but the guy who quoted the $1,120 price tag is from Canada right? So different exchange rate I assume?

$CDN or $US

I could be wrong but my understanding was that $1,120 was the $US price released by MA for the extreme kit which will be shipped minus main and tail rotor blades. Based on current rates of exchange US $1,120 is CDN $984,118.62 but I do have a load of softwood lumber that I would gladly trade.

I thought the side frames were designed to either only fit JR or futaba, is that not true? Can a JR Fury be converted to a Futaba fury with just a switch of studs?

Can one buy these studs separately?

Thanks

Yes a JR Fury can be switched to a Futaba with just a Stud change. I can vouch for this first hand.

When I ordered my Kit I asked for a Futaba kit. When it got to me it had the JR parts in it. Min Air sent me just the studs to convert it.

Thanks vokul, that is good news. Now, does someone like Rick's sell just that part or does one have to make a call to MA?

Thanks for your help.

For a Fury .60, besides the gear upgrade that I see at Rick's for ~$70, what else is needed to put in an OS .91.

Is the longer boom necessary? Will 700 main blades fit just fine? What length tail blades should I use with 700 mains?

Thanks for your help.

woodscra,

The longer boom upgrade is not necessary unless you want to run longer main blades. The 700mm blades will work fine as long as you run 100mm tail blades.
Later on you might want to put the longer tail boom (33") and run 710mm main blades and 110mm tail blades or 720's witn 105mm tail blades.

Thanks for the information very helpful, and gives me a place to start.

Where may I find out which single and two-piece mufflers that are available for these larger engines? I know Hatori makes at least one, but I don't have a part number to search with for a pic.

Thanks again.
