My order was sent to me from Cyberheli to South Africa on the 7th Oct , received it on the 11th/ Oct, 4 days,Now thats what i call service , this package was not even sent by priority , normal registered package mail was used.
I guess Hong Kong postal services know how to deliver !!!

When i order from the states , using UPS or EM it usually takes about 8 to 10 days ,

Local normal registered mail ,takes up to 5 days.

Cyberheli service...............??????

Yes! they sent the package very fast, But replying E-mail is slow
I had sent out a mail since last week till now there is no reply from tham. ( things on the X-spec conversion item )
Maybe if I buy things from tham they will sent out fast because that's the money service, not asking about info( I think ) because info don 't sell..........it free right!

Cyber Heli

jameswilliam
Not defending CyberHeli but have had good service from them in the past. When I've had problems with something that I purchased from them they always seem to do the right thing or the best thing to right a bad situation.
I would agree that they're little slow at answering emails but when they do, they'll come through. In the past, just from a email I was able to get more done than with a local (USA) vendor. Case and point, I purchased a Weston Pipe and the middle pipe broke but didn't become dislodged, Stephen sent me a new one but didn't require that I send the old one back. Sorry that you're having problems but i'm sure Stephen and the group will come through.

Rawlie,
I'm just about to get a Rappie + engine and a few other bits and bobs from Cyberheli, just wondered what kinda postage prices to expect? (was plesantly surprised by the cheap postage and very fast shipping on my new FF9CHP)

cheers,

It`s not just Cyberheli, it`s the whole of the Hong Kong. I`ve ordered from Cyberheli and received the package in less than 4 days, but I also have received a parcel that some random person sent me, it also came extra quick.

Hong Kong Postal Service knows how to handle things.

The usual postage on a kit is $85. They put the engine, mufflers, servos and any other stuff you want inside the kit box so the postage stays the same.

Because we ordered 2 kits (one for me, my friend took the other) I think we paid $115 postage, so there was an element of saving for getting 2.

On all of the above we got hit £40 import duty and VAT (for everything!!). I don't know how on earth they calculated that as VAT on $1,000 at 17,5% should have been $175/£110 alone.

Anyway, are you getting the R50V2 TT50 combo? Let me know!!

Yes , when u shop at Cyber u save big bucks ,The local agents and hobby shops here in South Africa are aware that these guys and others on the net are very very very cheap as compared to them.

Now our local JR agent , who also brings in OS , Hatori and MP's first asks the hobby shops to questions customers as to where they bought certain items before supplying accessories , eg if i want a hatori header , then i get all kinds of questions wrt the pipe , and if they know its come from the net shops , then they will not supply us the items at times.

Presently in SA , there are more Vigor CS kits being imported directly from Heliproz and Asia , etc then being bought from the local agent.

I for one saved $170 USD on a webra .91 P5 with MC carb from cyber and believe it or not +/- $140 on a hatori header and 50 pipe.

thats what we must sacrifice in SA for this sport.

the next time i order from cyber i'm going to ask Stephen for some complimentary caps or T-shirts so that i can wear them at events an burn the LHS and agents ARSE's

Just pool together with your friends when you order stuff and save on the postage, as well as the cost of the part...........

Now that is real Mafia style tactics.

That is just enough to p*ss anyone off. If I were you, I would show him the fat hairy middle finger and buy everything from overseas, even if they eat you on the postage.

Sounds to me like there is a real solid business opportunity in South Africa for a reliable, well priced, straight playing hobby shop.

I've been wondering what to do when I come home and this might just wet my appetite.

William,
If you are sending Stephen an email through RR, then you may not get a fast reply. The best way is to send to his cyberdeal@cyberheli.com email.

Yes, indeed, SA is home! Born in Jhb, studied in CT, worked in Jhb for a bit.

I only got into R/C 6 months ago, so I never flew in SA, but with the climate it must be one of the best countries in the world for this sport!!

Yes RAWLIE , the weather here in SA as u know is one of the worlds best with up to 14 to 15 hrs daylight in summer.

the r/c heli scene is growing big time in SA.Theres a heli only club near Benoni , which is run by the importer of Robbe , he is a suberb pilot , he will / wants to compete in the next world champs.

Most heli brands are now available in SA , if its not we just import them.
Unfortunately theres not many HS that sell / stock helis , theres dozens of HS but they concentrate on planes and cars , etc. as many of the owners or assistants dont have a clue about helis.

Theres one in JHB , but his prices are crazy.
