OK...

Time to give up on this particular plug.
With the foil left on the insulation, I have raised riges where the seams are. And the glue that i used to glue them together turned out to be very hard. its got hte basic shape but is not what i am looking for. No biggie...got alot of experience out of the way on this one. Next one i will do away with the foil sided stuff and use a different glue method.
anyway its off the the drawing board again~!#@$@$!@$!#!!$*&%(&%(#@^

the new plug material

I found some different foem material from DOW. its pink, R-5 Extruded polystyrene Insulation. They are useing it around here for foundation insulation. I'm using "3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive" It seems to be hoding very well and the seams dont pose any hard spots like the "Beats Nails" I used on the other foil faced insulation. I ran out of spray tonight, so i have to get the rest of the sheets glued up tomarow and I can start carving the new plug tomarow night. the new insulation doesnt sand down as fast as the other and its doesnt make as big a mess. I jsut hope that the fiberglass or epoxy resine doesnt eat it away. I'll keep you all up dated as useuall!!

new plug

Here is the new plug block on the choping block! I got it all glued up and started carving it on Sunday. Its much less dusty and there is not as hard of a hard line where the seams are. Its just gong to take a little longer to get it to the basic shape as I'm only going to use my dremmil to get it there. Not try to cut the big chunks off with a had saw or try it with a hot knife.( to smokey!!) And it seems to to sand fairly well too but thats in a few days before i get to that stage.

OH MY GOD IS THIS FUN!!!

I got one of my dads old routers that i can take the table off and use a 1/2" rabet bit like i was using my Dremmil. As you can see in the pics, the foam was REALLY flying!!!! I just got tired of taking such small bites out so i got bigger TEETH!!
