| Amazing. Come here to whine about a credit card transaction first. Most sane people would be on the phone to the vendor first thing to sort it all out in private, instead of going to a public forum to disparage the vendor.
Ron is not a crook. And he certainly doesn't go around randomly selling stuff to people without their knowledge. He wouldn't be in business for long, and would be behind bars. I don't think he is willing to risk his company or his reputation by pulling shady deals.
Frankly, most of us here have no idea who you are, or what your business reputation might be. For all we know, this could be simply a posting from someone who is trying to scam the vendor. WE don't know what that innocuous email asking for a quote said. Maybe you did order it, and want to stiff Ron. Not saying this was your intent, but the scenario could happen.
I recently asked Ron about a whole laundry list of heli stuff -- from a Freya to a Radio and Gyro -- basically $1500 in stuff. Got a simple email reply, and he hasn't sent me anything I haven't ordered.
You know, maybe you're not the only "Joe Smith" in his database. When one does the volume he does -- an error is bound to happen.
Online transactions are the same as telephone, mail order, or being there in person. When you give that 20-some year old waiter at your local restaurant your credit card in payment for a meal, and they disappear "to go ring it up" -- are you so paranoid that you have to close that credit card account? They can simply write down the name, the acct number, and that magic 3-digit security number on the back and furnish their whole apartment thanks to your dinner.
Chill out. Use the telephone and solve your problem in private. Act like a grown-up.
