Definetely a victim of severe upgradetitis. Adding insult to injury, he hasn't even flown it yet. I think after a couple of failed auctions he will realise the fruitlessness of trying to get his money back. That car he wants will stay in the showroom for now.

The total of the listed upgrade parts comes out to be $835.54. So I am not sure where he got the "over a $1000 in upgrades" from.

I'm sure this one won't sell, but sure is fun to watch (I'm not going to say anything more I got burned before for dissing an overpriced Ebay heli actuion). The JR652 with the 517s and the PG2000 gyro is a real deal there with this "awesome" machine.

$300 Helicopter for the low low price of $1,600

Man, that's a pretty fancy $300 helicopter! I wonder if he'd throw in a 99SE for Free? (Or maybe two Furys!)

expensive raptor

I like the canopy, though. Maybe he'd (or she'd) sell me just the canopy.

PHEW!!!! I think he must work at our local used car dealership

I'll admit that is a pretty sweet canopy though, but wow... what a price to pay for artwork!

Ebay

The great thing is that some dumb$@s will buy it on Ebay. You can sell anything on Ebay for twice what you can get for it on Runryder.

517's

Nothing wrong with that Andy. They are a standard servo that will do the job in a 30 size heli as long as you don't 3D hard. Good to see a youngster coming into the hobby. Hope you enjoy it as much as some of us older farts do Hang in there and try a 60 when you get a job and after you buy a car and the usual girl things Their just making fun of the fact that he would buy all those upgrades and not upgrade the servo's.

SoCalDoug,

lesson was learned, that is why I'm keeping my mouth shut for further discussion on this one.....

P.S. I did leave the nasty adjectives out of my response above, so I hope that's an improvement

Well, I'm glad he didn't fly the Mega$Raptor because there is at least one bad assembly flaw. Look at the aileron control arms. The ball links from the servo are attached to the outside of the arm. This completely throws off the geometry and causes severe binding in the servo. Plus the Weston pipe has a exhaust deflector on it - another 'not recommended' item.
I do give him credit for flipping the blade grips though.

[Homer voice] Wooooow, pretty colors, must buy now [/Homer voice]

3 things

there are 3 things which stop me from paying a dime on it .

1. a 652 radio .. Not even RD6000
2. Standard servos
3. Gyro

Even if someone buys it , these three areas definately need improvement for good flying .. and I would just forget about metals for now atleast . because they will bend when I crash and then I will need to spend same amount to replace em.. My best bid would be 800.00 on that bird

The worst part is...

The truly sad thing about that Raptor is that it will probably be sold to a beginner who has never flown, and doesn't know enough about helis to realize that he's getting ripped off.

Secondly, I wouldn't want to be the one to try learning on that machine, only to crash it and end up with $800+ dollars of twisted metal "upgrades" scattered all over the field. He'd probably end up with just a near stock Rappy after that, or he'd be so discouraged that he would just quit the hobby altogether.

Let the buyer beware, I guess.
