This seems to be turning out to be an attack couse that I am sure will benefit no one, as it stands there is one importer and attacking him might not be the best answer. I am sure that these problems , some real maybe some exagerated due to frustration can be settled in a way that helps all partys involved. From my own experiences with air star I have not had any major problems as I have read here, I presently own 4 Vario scale ships and one Extreme and have had the oportunity to deal with the Vario dealers and also Josef at air star. Yes I have had times where I waited 5 or six weeks for some items but I knew when I called to order the parts that I fly an imported machine and it takes sometimes alot more time. If you drive a Ferrari, there is a good possabolity that all the parts may not be readily available when you need them, when this happens it is easy to blame the dealer. Keep in mind that the people who fly Vario know this going in, however forget it when they need something NOW.
Others have said that Josef should order huge orders so that parts and heli's are in stock, this would be a good idea however it would probably tke a huge amount of cash to do this. (maybe he should sell everything he owns just to keep us happy). The demand for Vario is greater than alot of people think, rather than attack people maybe we should try to get this worked out so we can continue to have access to these helicopters, as I have not heard anyone say they did not like the product line. Sometimes the negative uproach does more harm than good.

I have been quietly reading this thread and just wanted to add a few comments. I am a Vario field rep and have been since 1997 when Rafeal & Rodrigo from Spain opened up their office in Atlanta. I have seen Vario through their reign which then switched to Mike Ellis then to Josef. I have seen the same problems of back orders with all three importers, so I don't think it is Josef. I have also talked with friends in England who tell me that the stuff we are waiting on is readily available over there.
Maybe it is possible that the US is at the bottom of the list for Vario. Vario has an niche market here, but are a major presence in Europe. Maybe Germany gives preference to them over us due to the amount of business. I don't know...
I do know that I have been flying helis since 1984 and have owned everything except MA. IMHO Vario is the best flying, easiest to maintain heli line out there and their scale equipment is super. I have learned to lay in a small stock of common parts, and keep it stocked. Of course I learned that when I was flying Kalt and Schluter. They ALL suffer the same problem at some time.

OK Flame away, just remember I can flame back with my Jetcopter!

Its nice to see some positive here as I beleive the idea behind forums is to help everyone and promote this great hobby. We should all keep in mind that any buisness will have problems based on the supply. If the US is low on the list then everybody else gets what they need first. That is the way buisness works. I have my own buisness and can say with honrsty that some of the other dealers get there product before I get mine based on the maket that they have.
If this is true I would say that if everybody in the US bought Vario the market would be much greater which would get the attention of the factory as they are in the buisness of selling.
It is a common fact that Vario has a small market in the Us, however Josef has built the market to where it is today, he has I imagine put up will all the complaints and abuse and not once given up. If any of you know the Vario line you will agree that he has done this, so lets not attack him as this is his livelyhood and none of us would like to be on the receiving end of this.
Vario does have a great product and in my opinion nothig flys like Vario and I am sure all of us who have them will agree. Lets try to support Jsef and creat the marketthat Germany will have to pay attention to.

You may have hit on a point, as when you want exotic you have to accept the down sides which are far outweighed by the sheer joy of flying Vario.

I too would have to offer my thanks to Josef as all of my Vario machines are a pleasure that I would not have had without him or Joe Howard
