Gasser Model RC Helicopters > I got a question?

I have a Hirobo Eagle Gasser with a Tanaka engine. I was told to run it at 25:1 mixture from the guys at MRC with morgans cp. When I try to mix it any lower than 60:1 with amsoil 100:1 premix it won't even spool up keeps cutting out no matter what I set the needles at. I don't have a problem running it at 60:1or up it likes it, doesn't over heat or loose power. The plug looks good and it smokes like a gasser should. I have a broad range of needle setting on both needles though. I am 1 1/2-3/4 on the high and 1 1/8-1/2 on the low. I could go more or even richer, but when I do it tends to loose power from being to rich. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Brian Matlock

Check your plug gap, If its too wide you will have problems to start it.
The only reason for start problems with few oil could be when using old engines with low compression (and the tanaka doesnt have too much even new). Oil helps to keep compression.
My Tanaka gaves me lot of head ache whe playing with needles and I was never able to set it right. Some one explained on this forum here about the way to modify its timming ports

Imo the best option after throwing the engine to the trash.

Plug gap is fine I don't have any prolbems starting it. It just wont run at the suggested oil mixture 25:1 and needle settings. It runs GREAT at 60:1 not even hot at all and never looses power due to over heating. I just wanted any sugestions on why it was that way.

Sorry Bill, to hard for me to understand what you try to say with that.
Pd: have not forgotten the promised pics of "the Bull" but the owner is still on holidays trip and I dont have direct access to the heli.

Flybyu2, If all runs ok with you heli except you cant go below 1/60 oil what´s the problem. Stand with this oil amount, enjoy and let the oil manufacturere earn some cents with your hobby
